a 14 base model should run right beside a c6z so why would i pay $50k for a 5yr old c6z when i can buy a brand new base for $52k? are c6z prices going to tank soon or am i missing something here???

I don't think many Corvettes in general are selling now for that same reason. Seems the sellers thoughts haven't caught up yet.
Why would anyone pay $35K for a 5 year old base C-6? When a new 2013 is around $40k with no miles and a 3 year warranty.
Good Luck to all,

A 2014 C6 is base maybe new but does not have Power, Demand, Value, Screaming Looks, Aggressiveness and Attitude like a Z06! If the C7 Z06 were to come out in several months...then you might see sellers dropping their price. Until then...Z06 and ZL1 will hold value close to new C7 coming soon.

If you're willing to wait about 2 years after the C7 hits the showroom floor C6 prices will dip. It happened after the C5 and the C6. C5Z prices seemed to have rebound some.

Same kind of threads on the offshore boat forums. Some guy wants a 150K offshore ride for 80K. I always tell them when they email a lowball......"Hey man some guys just can't afford to ball"

people can post any price they want....when they sell it most likely be for what the car is worth.....everyone thinks what they own is worth more then it really is...including thread starter i bet....

This thread is amusing -- I'm actually trying to sell my 08 Z06, 2LZ, Nav, chrome, some tasteful mods and some that add damn good value. for 44-45 A car that's truly immaculate, babied, and mechanically perfect. And
I get people low balling me for $38k here and on Ebay. Even car max offered me more than this, and that's them going off auction price with a cushion for them to make some profit.
I could strip my Z06, turn it back to 100% stock and get more than some people offer. It's a real eye opener when a company who's business plan is designed to make money offers more than some here.
I'm not buying a new car so trading in isn't an option -- I'm going for a house so it's a private party cash sale. The reason C6Z's aren't in the 30s is because of two letters and number: LS7 and it's still the king of naturally aspirated.
Good luck getting a base C7 for anywhere near MSRP or under for quite a long time.

Couple dealers on fleabay trying to sell 2008 and 2009 coupes for $41,995. Admittedly these had low miles and looked nice... but no CF member in their right mind would bite. I messaged them a link to a couple of the forum sponsors like MacMulkin, Kerbeck etc. and said check this out! Good luck because informed buyers know where they can get a brand new 2LT for $45K, and only $42K if they already own a Vette.
Note, these were dealers. I would not bash a private owner, esp. a CF member. I prefer to let those private sellers reach their own conclusion after months and months go by and they still have the car.

For the record I highly doubt a base 2014 model will even be anywhere near the performance of a C6 Z06. If you can buy a 2014 C7 for $52K when it arrives this fall...please let us know...I like to know the dealership that is selling it for that price. A 52K C7 will also be the stripped down model. A 50K C6 Z06 depending on the year, mileage and options is a better choice than a base 52K C7....JMO.

First place the C-6 Z06 is going to pull away from the C-7 and your not getting one for 52.
