Default Horizontal chrome strip in mouth of the front fascia: Should GM or we remove it?

So, as the poll states, do you think GM (or owners) should remove the Chrome Strip in the mouth of the front fascia ????

Pics below are for reference.
Top is stock (blue pace car from autoweek)
Bottom is a photochop done by Zymurgy.

Thanks to Zymurgy to his photochop below that removes the chrome strip in the grill .

Maybe it's better to ask the question I originally started in another thread here.

Can anyone who has seen the C7 up close, or the schematics, answer the question:
What is the best fix to remove the horizontal chrome strip in the "mouth" of the front fascia ????

-Complete removal of strip with a dremel
-Peel off chrome
-Some paint black
-Plasti Dip

Thanks

I voted "No" for several reasons. I don't know how it is attached, or what removing it might do in terms of leaving holes behind. GM is not going to remove it, at least not in MY 2014. I think a better option might be to have it painted carbon flash black to match the vents.

I actually like the strip and as my car will be CGM, I think it will blend nicely, voted no.

This will be the first REQUIRED mod to be done. Remove / cover the chrome "dentist brace" in the front grill area.

It will be a easy fix... Just paint it black, or get a 1 inch or 1/2 inch wide black stripe (decal on a roll) and stick it over the plastic chrome stuff. Then take a razor blade and trim the extra around the edges.

It doesnt bother me what so ever and I hate chrome. In person, you dont even notice it. you're too busy looking at all the other features and crease's of the body of the C7, you forget all about it.

JR3-
That pic of the braces and headgear is completely applicable..... and hilarious.

Stingray23-

Looking at the photochopped pic and the stock C7 above at the same time shows the chrome strip as really obvious............. and ugly.

I like it. Makes the front mouth area look smaller and thinner. It's a clever trick to make the front look lower, meaner and more aggressive.

I could argue that all black makes it look like this:

Nope. It's not an opinion.
It's physics.
If you are against the OPTION DCT and AWD, you're just wrong.

Unlike Stingray 23, I'm not into men's mouths.
That photochopped open mouth of the C7 looks like this to me:

Are you that insecure that you have to resort to insults? Did I say anything to you to provoke your childish comment? Angelina Jolie is a beautiful looking woman, but I HIGHLY doubt she would be interested in a nobody like you. Keep dreaming

No "braces" on this beauty and she doesn't look like the old man's mouth that some of you are into.

This is the reason for the silver stripe.

I own one of these and I would say the front grill is probably the ugliest part of this car.

That not a yes or no question. It's up to the owner. What does he like?

I believe the touch of chrome in front is there to balance out with the touch of chrome on the exhaust tips.
