Corvette Wave!

Corvette Wave!
Last month I bought my "dream" car an 03 Z06 in Millennium Yellow. The neatest thing about the car isn't the car itself, but the fact EVERY single vette driver I have passed has waved!
I wish I would have read that first as the first few times I thought I knew the people.

That's cool. In my area, many corvette drivers just drive by without returning the wave. The odd thing here is many other non corvette drivers wave at each other regardless of what they are driving. The later is a southern thing I've seen all my life. The former I haven't figured out.

Most do, some don't. You can usually tell as they go by if they
1) just didn't see ya
2) don't know about it
3) are too stuck up to even care.
#3's still get a wave... a slightly different kind but still a wave.

Part of it just could be changing times. When my generation was young, we dreamed of owning a Corvette in the early 20's or so but back then, it just really wasn't much of a reality. So we studied them, talked about 'em, and just learned. I don't remember when I first heard about the wave but it was probably in the late 60's.
Today people are getting them so young that I don't think they have a clue of the history and in most cases, don't care. I could be all wet but the times they are a changin'

I had been Corvette-less for 30-some years and forgot about the wave. When we bought our C5 in December it was my wife's first question to the sellers. "Do Vette owners still wave?" Spring just arrived over the weekend, we'll find out soon enough.
