Default Garage Queens vs DD's

I've read many threads like this....never thought I would post one.
My wife won an $11,000. raffel for either, the lease on a new car for two years or $11,000. toward the purchase of something at a Ford dealership.
We picked the purchase of a used Ford 2010 Focus...it looked brand new....and purchased it for our daughter in Oregon.
The salesman tried to sell me a "2009 Vette with 1500 miles.
The question was why would someone buy a Vette and not drive it?
I drive mine 50 miles a day, 7 days a week.

There are those that enjoy trying to keep the car as new as possible for as long as possible. They get their enjoyment from a different way that you do. While mine is not a daily driver, I do manage to put 4 or 5 thousand miles a year on it. So I can kind of see both sides. I'm just glad that for whatever reason a person owns one that the car still gives them enjoyment. Hopefully that will keep the Corvette alive for many more years.

When someone buys a Vette, keep in mind that it's their car and they can do what they want with it.

I have a company vehicle that I drive all week. I wish I could drive my Corvette more.

And most of the rest of the time, it's been on stands, waiting for me to finish the latest mods or repair. Driving it this next weekend, I hope.

I love those guys who keep garage queens. They are providing a valuable service caring for a car until I can afford to buy it.

i don't really get it myself. if you take a 2002 z06 with 10k miles you'll get around 22-24k

you could run that car to 120k miles and still get 15k for it and probably have an easier time selling it

at first i thought it might be money but modern cars drop regardless of if you drive them or not.

i just don't see why someone would buy a c5, sit on it for 10 years and not get out and enjoy it

Hobby.

Why would Leno buy all the cars he does? He certainly can't drive them all.
