C3s (and C2s) on German Hockenheim Racetrack Historic Meeting
Guten Tag, howdy y'all
The Hockenheim racetrack in Germany was the place of choice for a very special meeting: It's called the "Hockenheim Historic" (Jim Clark Revival). A whole weekend of vintage car races and meetings. Wanna know how it was? Well AWESOME, what else??? Ok, it was a tad cold (about 40° F) but at least my engine liked that. Here are a couple of impressions from there, taken last weekend. Enjoy.
A short video I cobbled together from my camera and shots from friends. Watch out for the GT 40 and the C2 Grand Sport at 2:19:
https://vimeo.com/64938028.
And here antother C3 exclusive video from forum member "zuendler": I tried to follow him when he stepped on the gas - no friggin' way for my L46
And last but not least a few pictures:
Yep, that's "Zuendler". His 502 gets to him sometimes. But mostly he's a sane person
The class of 69: Forum members "Roma", "Yankeededandy" and "Zuendler". Corvette owners were allowed to park in the inner sanctum of the race track.
I still like the look of the old 911s
Man, that was one impressive GT 40. Watch the video. He slipped on his own oil leak, when he was leading the race followed by the Grand Sport.
The best sound on the track and my favorite car there:
They tried to break the Guiness World Record for getting the most vintage cars on the track but failed. Still, looking at the parade I felt like watching a highway traffic jam back in 1972.
Have a great weekend,
Martin
