Default Wow what a difference a 100hp makes!

I finally ran out of warranty and decided to go "modding" on my 08 C6. I live in the Dallas metroplex area and after doing my research landed at 21st Century Muscle Cars in Addison. I had looked at one of their performance packages online that quotes to get you up to 525hp(to the flywheel - I got 535hp). I met with Matt there and we began the process there, in fact I was not sure which headers I wanted on the car as they carrier all the main brands. There was a 2011 GS on the rack and they had just installed the new PHADT TRI-Y Headers. I saw on the dyno how these headers had a ton of torque in the 3000-5500 rpm range and to me that meant more usable torque vs @ say 6000 plus where you don't get on a regular basis. So my mind was made up PHADT was the one! Matt said the version for the 05 to 08 was not available yet but he would get an order in if I like so we did. I decided to contact the PHADT guys and I PM'ed Blair on this forum. He said we are shooting for a April 1st ship date (this was early March). I made a couple calls and a few e-mails to Blair and Rob - they are great to deal with as was Matt at 21st! PHADT ended up pretty close to the 1st. Anyway we started the upgrades on a Tuesday and I was in the car on Thursday (awesome job Matt). Now to the title "wow what a diffence 100hp makes". The car is not nearly as tame and takes little effort to activate the Traction Control. The muscle car sound rumbling out of the back of the car is music to a guy who was a kid in the 70's when muscle cars still existed HA. The link to all this is on YouTube that shows before, on the dyno, and after so you guys can see e difference. Can't say enough about the experience as both 21st and PHADT really did there part in making this happen and I am a very happy guy! Should have done this years ago but I would have missed using what is probably the best new header on the market (go read the engineering behind the Tri-Y's as it makes sense). Hope this helps some one sitting on the fence!

Sounds great. Is it cammed too? Sounds like it.

BTW, speaking of modding, they have these neat video editing programs that can edit out people walking to their cars in flip-flops so viewers don't have to wait through that part.

Default Cost

A tad over 5 grand. You figure I got a bit over stock z06 hp and saved about 15 grand over the purchase price of a Z (usually about 20k more) Not to take anything away from the z06 as there are other diffences too.

What did they do besides the headers?

Also, does your ins co know about these mods? Some companies do not insure modded Corvettes (mine is one of them). And some do, but raise the rates accordingly.

You probably want to read your policy thoroughly or you may not be insured right now.

Default Wow awesome sounds!!

That car sounds great. I am going a similar route. For my A6C608, I installed my Callaway CAI couple years back waited until I finished the payments, warranty etc. Now I'm going to add catted Kooks headers, xpipe, and an upgraded tune with some new Vossen wheels and MPSS tires at 19 and 20s... and just maybe a supercharger next 2014 Summer. Figure it will be like having a new car with great new sound, speed and power without spending 20k plus...I hope mine sounds as good as yours in the video!!! Congrats!!

You might be pleased with the PHADT headers vs the Kooks. Nothing at all against the Kooks guys but these new PHADT headers are fine with the 4 to 2 to 1 graduation vs the std now of 4 to 1. JMO.

Not trying to be, just trying to help.

I just hope my ins co doesn't consider my car "modded" (CAI and tune). I could put my stock tune back in since I have an AutoCal and I also have my stock air intake too.
