Not as many as you make think there are and also I was looking at the Z06 style wheels only. Plenty of black wheels with machine face and so on, but I am having an issue finding Z06 style black Chrome.

Most of the wheels you see Advertized as "Black Chrome" are really just gloss Black paint or translucent Black paint over Chrome.

Chrome means electroplated Chromium over a base material usually with 2 metalic layers electroplated under the Chrome. EX; Copper over the base material then Nickel over the Copper and Chromium over the Nickel. Gives an extremely hard, highly polished appearence. Paint over that chrome and you have a painted finish, not a Chrome finish.

Good way to tell if it's real Chrome or not is the manufacturers instructions on cleaning/polishing. If the instructions say to use only soap and water it's probably a painted finish.

No

And No. Both of the links you supplied are for gloss black wheels, not black chrome. The black chrome wheels are a chrome wheel with a translucent finish over the chrome that give the chrome a slight black look. They do not look like gloss black wheels.

But thanks for trying.

This is the wheel in question. It is on my '07. unfortunately, they were on the car when I bought it, so I do not know the original owner purchased them. The reason I am looking, is the wife and I went to a friends wedding this past Saturday evening and I missed my turn and while doing a U-turn I clipped the curb. So I now have curm rash on the wheel and two small chips in the finish.

Here is the same wheel in chrome. This is what I had on my C5

heh, I ran into the same problem when I was looking for ZR1 black chrome wheels. There just aren't any out there.

I ended up getting an OEM set from a CF vendor ...THANKS DOCZ and I am taking them to California Chrome http://www.calchrome.com/ to actually get them black chromed. The REAL black chrome finish. Maybe give them a call and see if they can help? Hope that helps a lil.
