Default Help with Tiger Shark Body Kit

Well after 2 years of trying to convince the wifey to let me install the front and rear tiger shark bumpers, she finally agreed after she saw it in person yesterday at a car show.

My question(s);

1- what is the difference between all the distributors TS kits they sell?
2- why can I find them online from differ sites at $100's different in price?
3- should I try to find it in fiberglass or plastic?
4- who's the best distributor to buy front, back, and chin spoiler?
5- how the fit? I don't want uneven gaps, spacing, or alignment issues?
6- about how much should I expect to pay for paint and install?

Any advise and help would be much appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

Don't buy the cheap ones. You get what you pay for. I did just the rear on mine and love the way it looks. I went with Dennis from Double D Mods. Give him a call and he will take care of you..

You want the Starcraft made urethane version that is the OEM material. Fit is very good. I bought the rear, had it painted and installed it myself with no adjustments necessary.

I test fitted the front. It needed minor adjustments before paint.

Very high quality product.

Smoothblue-

I see you're from Chicago. Where you at Supercar Saturday yesterday in Bannockburn? Your car was parked close to the few Diablo's and the Aventador. If not, your car looks just like a C5Z with the same rims and all.

I hope your not in a hurry to install the Starcraft TigerShark front and rear fascias
There is none available and have been on back order since November of 2011

I received a call from Starcraft about these and there is a slight chance the TS fronts and rear will be changed to fiberglass. The company who makes the TS front and rear fascias for Starcraft is making it difficult for Starcraft to get these.

The positives on them being changed to fiberglass is hopefully a price reduction and as I noted for the rear a change to allow more exhaust options to fit without having to buy the Corsa.
These talks were a couple weeks ago and I have not had any followup since.

So
At this point
Your going to need to look for used parts is you want to do the front and rear fascias from Starcraft

As soon as we get word they are available we will be letting everyone know. I have a pretty long waiting list of people to call already

I have the starcraft TS bumpers. I bought the car with the intent to trade them for stockers but they grew on me. I do not have the front chin and do not plan on getting it, IMO it looks much cleaner/meaner without it. Too much going on with it on, not to mention I foresee it getting ripped off real quick. I do not have the fog lights which I prefer not to have. I feel like it gives it a dopey look. I would say if you are doing it anyway you might as well get the front lip and have it painted and you can always take it off/put it on at will. The rear bumper makes the car look exotic, especially on mine with 345 wide tires. One last thing, don't expect it all to line up like OEM. I'm not sure that will happen.

Wow that's crazy that they would consider changing to glass. That is the whole selling point IMO of the bumper (well custom front but retains the oem materials)

To the OP if you're willing to wait a bit I will have these in urethane in about 2 months. Slightly different that the Tigershark, as the parking lights are filled in and you use LED lights in the lower vents for running lights/turn signals. I should be getting about 15-20 of these. Here is the original thread although the GB is no longer going.

I don't have the front chin... I actually tried the chin but got nothing but front scrap aggravation. I think it looks great without it as my avatar shows

just fitting mine up that I got from Dennis, need a bit of work but fit is good, brought a fiberglass one a couple of years back from forum member it needs so much work it was a waste of money, would like the rear but wouldn't touch if it becomes glass.

I bought mine from Dennis and had a friend of mine install and paint for me. He said it required a little fitting, but was one of the easiest he had done.

They are very tough to find last time I heard. Starcraft seems to be between runs last time I heard.

Default I have a front TS...

1- what is the difference between all the distributors TS kits they sell?
A) The "Stacraft" is urethane and the "Duraflex" is fiberglass. this is the only "difference" I know.
2- why can I find them online from differ sites at $100's different in price?
A) Welcome to online Corvette parts shopping.
3- should I try to find it in fiberglass or plastic?
A) My opinion is flexable plastic or urethane. One good bump with fiberglass and its cracked. See my post below about duraflex.
4- who's the best distributor to buy front, back, and chin spoiler?
A) Do not know
5- how the fit? I don't want uneven gaps, spacing, or alignment issues?
A) My Starcraft fit good except in the corners by the headlight in my post below that was easy to adjust
6- about how much should I expect to pay for paint and install?
A) Was about $1500 ($650 for the used bumper and the rest to the body shop)

Do you already have one? If not good luck finding one. Do not buy a fiberglass duraflex one! I did and had it shipped to the body shop. The shop would not install it because it was so bad. That same day to my luck I bought a starcraft one from a guy on this forum who happened to be local. He had had it 4 years and never installed it. The shop did a good job of install except it was almost 1/4 high at the headlights and they said that was the best they could do. I was not happy with it but they warned me before they started that it may not fit perfect. I fixed it myself a month or 2 later and took it back to them and told them how I did it.
You can see the bad mismatch at the headlight in the 1st pic and last pic

I bought mine from 21st Muscle Car (Star Craft Dist.) I have the Complete Tiger Shark Body Kit on my Z06's... it does give the car a more Exotic look. You will rarely run into another one on the road... I still haven't except for the two that I own!
