What will you do with your GT500? Does Ford pay you to be here or is it pro bono?

After seeing the C7 in person last month at the NAIAS, I will be ordering mine in the spring of 2014. My retirement present :

Because of the anticipated wait before the C7 becomes available for a reasonable amount, I will purchase a 2013 convertible, if I can find one with the required options (manual, magnetic ride control and 3LT) and trade in my 2006 coupe. Then I will trade the 2013 on a 2016 convertible in about three years. We'll see!!

It hasn't changed my mind. The C7 looks as good as I was hoping it would. I will hang on to my 2012 GS until Fall of 2014 and then buy a Torch Red w/Z51 and red interior.

No effect. I may own one (C7) in a few years, but not a 2014. First year of a new generation is likely to have some bugs. I might buy a used 2015+ eventually, but I don't like it enough to drop everything and join the stampede to be "the first kid on the block".

I'll continue to enjoy my C6's indefinitely.

I still dont care much for the rear end. I will wait til I actually eyeball a C7 before I go much further. So far, Laguna Blue with Chrome Wheels would be my choice. I dont know about the interior color as what I have seen of the 5 interior colors are a little dark for my liking. I wont buy the first year of the C7 anyway ...

Speaking of Ford, The Boss 302 has similar seats as the 2014
vette. Guess gm copied them since the Ford is on the market

At first I was "oh hellz yeah, where do I sign up" but now that the honeymoon is over I will definitely wait until I actually see one in the showroom. I love the looks, performance, the tail lights don't bother me in the least, the only thing that may possibly hold me back is the price, I need to know just how much the final price is going to be, anything north of 60K and I'm out for at least a year.

Another thing that was in the back of my mind is do I supercharge my C5. I paid it off recently and have ZERO car payments, I love that freedom but if I go the C7 route I will have to be making some for a couple of years and that doesn't sit too well with me but if I supercharge my C5 it may bring some new excitement into driving it and I won't have any payments. It would then be suffice until I can find a cheaper C7.

Yep... I went from BUYING to NOT.

I'll probably go to Viper or pick up another high end C6.

Yep makes me want to dump my C5 and skip the C6 to get one.

There are tons of upgrades that I love over the two.

Also if you wanted to you could go all out and build a new engine and have as much HP as you want .
Just a thought .

Yes, I could do an engine swap but for 10K I don't know how much of an engine I'd get. I also love having a convertible, I've always had a convertible Corvette but if I go the C7 route I would have to wait longer to get one. Decisions, decisions.......

It would be much harder to mod a C7.
I had a white C5 vert with tan top and tan interior .
I wish I had kept that car .

The C7 far exceeds my expectations. I had a deposit at one dealer and after the Detroit show I now have deposits with 2 dealers.

I believe I have my one owner never wrecked Z06 sold for $26,500.

Definitely changed my buying decision. I'm getting one the first year instead of waiting.
