Saw the C7 in person today....
Today I went to the Chicago Auto Show. Spent a couple of hours at the Chevy exhibit.
First, to view the C7 in person. Took a few pictures.
Then, spent a lot of time listening to the people with their impressions of the Vette.
Most of the people viewing the Vette were not Vette owners or Vette club members. Most were ordinary car fans who always attend this show. Many families, both young and old. A lot of couples. A lot of single men & women.
99% of the comments I heard or solicited were positive. Men were telling their SO: Honey, there's your Vette! This was said in a very positive way. Not condescending at all.
I was impressed with the new Vette. I was also impressed with the pictures I had seen online or in magazines. Seeing it in person did not really sway me one way or the other. The car looks great.
My bottom line opinion is this: I will be saving up my dollars so I will be able to purchase one of these.

I wonder if they're going to bring them anywhere near fly over country.

The model mentioned today that production would start in August. This is a little later than I had heard earlier.
Obviously, there are some validation issues which they will have to work out before starting the build.
Because of this delay, there might be some C7s heading out to where you live.
Just an educated guess on my part. GM (Chevy) wants as much exposure as possible.
The Corvette today was constantly surrounded by people. No other exhibit at McCormick Place was even close to this in numbers.

I seen it sat at the show and I thought it is way better in real life than Picts. I liked it in Picts and after seeing it live it was amazing!!!
A fabulous car just fabulous.

Melting Slicks
To be or not to be ?
Was at my dealer on Tuesday getting my '06 seviced, state inspection, oil change, wiper blades, etc. He said he had an allotment of one C7 and wanted to know what color I wanted. I told him Cyber Gray with Brownstone, Z51 and automatic trans. Will I see it? Who knows but, it sure was fun talking about it.
