Default Headers, NEVER AGAIN!

If anyone is considering putting long tube headers on your C6 DON"T because after you have them installed, you will have a very expensive piece of "CRAP" and you will be out $3,000.00 and as you may be able to tell madder than hell. I now have a car that will not even keep up with a 6 cylinder nisson. Going to have to find a way to cool off....Later..

Probably means the cost of the part, install, and uninstall.

OP, do you mind sharing your experience? I recently got a set of headers on mine and they seem ok to me. It did make the car a little more 'rough' due to the increased exhaust noise, but she sounds good.

I always keep stock parts just in case I need to reinstall them. My headers plus install didnt cost 3K. I think I paid $150 for install and whatever the B&B headers cost. And I got the mid pipe and axel back and still dont think I came to 3K. Close for everything , I will have to look and see what I paid for all but KEEP STOCK parts.

Had headers on my mustang and camaro rally sport and they were great. I can not get over 95mph on a straight away. So sad as my stock exhaust provided great back pressure
and that car would flat out get it, but now it is nothing but a beautiful red peice of ----. To bad for me I suppose.

What did you get? 5 inch headers to lose that much back pressure? JK. But something besides the headers is wrong.

Yea they are LG long tube with v collector and X tube with oversized cats and Magna Flow exhaust. I had them install as I do not have access to a tuner after install and the actual cost was around 2,940.00 out the door.

Maybe the ECU needs to relearn with the change in exhaust out put. no one seems to know why before the headers I could get on it and the back would slide, now it will not even lay rubber on start. Can not get over how angry I am at myself for adding the headers. I have had headers on other cars and always had great output, but now I will just sell the damn thing.

So are you saying it lost power? Was the car tuned on the dyno? You should be able to see gains in there.

When you put headers on your Mustang and Camaro did you get the cars tuned afterwards?

Everyone knows that when you install headers, you need a tune.

I wouldn't spend $3,000 on headers without one.

I got 3 inch with cone shaped collector and X tube (mid pipe) Sure thought it would help, but I do not even want to start it and drive it around the block. Do not know what I should do at this point. Cannot afford to put old exhaust on, as they have thrown away (I should have saved it).. Oh Well! This will be one of the most expensive mistakes I could have made concerning my beloved car.

Had it tuned after install and gained 30+ horsepower, but something has happened, as it has no real power any more....
