Default New shoes installed

I wanted a different look than the chrome Z06 replicas so I picked up some OEM C6 wheels. Spent a few days stripping them down to the aluminum, cleaned them really good, primed them with etching primer, painted them graphite metallic with DuPont's wheel paint and then shot them with clear.

I then bought new Hankook V12's in the C6 sizes (245/40/18 & 285/35/19) and had them installed today. After selling the old wheels and some other parts this mod only cost me $90 total. Got to love that. I also installed new TPMS sensors since the car didn't have any.

Looks nice. I have the same wheels in black (but with rivets).

A new wheel can change the overall look dramatically.

I'm normally not a fan of the C6 thin spokes because of the fugly barrels, but I really like what you have done with them. Good job!

Abn, that's nice work! Love the look! Exactly what I meant in the post I just made about my new wheels updating the look of my vette. The Graphite/Gunmetal look is "it" these days.

Congrats!

They weren't chrome. They were the OEM silver color. I stripped them with Aircraft stripper. That helped but then used a sanding wheel on my drill. Pretty easy but time consuming.
