Body Color Lower Panels (photoshop)

Body Color Lower Panels (photoshop)
From the C7 site and that video:
this is approxmately how the lower panels on the red and blue would look in body color.
Sorry for the bad photoshop, but the originals were such low res, makes it very difficult.

While I like the contrasting lower panels, this certainly isn't a bad look and expect to see some done in the aftermarket and DIY by their new owners.

Was just thinking after I did these, either the aftermarket or GM will make the money on this choice. Either way, many will opt for the body color for certain colors (blue, red, yellow, maybe green and maybe white).
I know for me, it would depend up my ultimate final choice of color and what looks best.
The cover of AUTOMOBILE has a VY with the body panels in the VY color.! Looks great!!

That looks better but I wouldn't have any black showing on the rear panel; much like the rear of the C5 (all one color). Those black inserts look like a cheap add-on to me.

The intention is to have it all color. In this case, I could not tell where the body panel ended and the shadow began. I'll post the cover of the mag, it's all one color (easy when it's an illustration).

It's the Motor Trend Collector Series Magazine. Hopefully, they get it right at Bowling Green.
I think the Photo was simply reversed for the magazine. Notice how the Crossed Flags is also reversed, indicating the photo was horizontally flipped.

Why would they bother to reverse it?? Is that really on the PRINTED copy??

I called Motor Trend and the clown that answered the phone had no clue as to what the March 2013 front cover looked like. Wow. So, I explained the oversight and suggested they relook their error before Magazines hit the shelves. If their customer service is any indication of their Quality Assurance program, it's no wonder this slipped by.

Best engineering, not so much in the appearance department. But room for growth......and mo money. I'll let the market decide. It doesn't effect me much. Good luck to GM, I hope it is a grand slam.

I like what you did with the photoshop. As you mention that will be one of the first DIY post on the forum once these new Stingrays hit the street.
As far as the different angles are concerned , I am sure it has a lot to do with the venting of air from the car. I am sure it flows the air out much better with less turbulence that having the back flat or rounded.

This will happen. It just looks too good for GM to not offer this option. Maybe not in 2014, but in later years. Perhaps when the high HP model arrives.
