Default Do my eyes deceive me?

So - I received in my order from corvettemods -- paint matched plate.

Obviously it's a C6 -- Velocity Yellow.

Love the plate/quality/backplate -- but for some reason the plate looks a tad more like millennium yellow?

Now, I've never owned a C5 or seen millennium yellow up close or side by side velocity yellow, but the plate paint just looks a shade or two darker than the car paint.

I'm not sure how "close" they can get in terms of 3rd party paint to patch factory paint. Am I just seeing things? or should I contact the forum vendor I got it from and see what they think? I'm very happy with the product, I just want to make sure I got the right yellow!

Keep in mind it's overcast and cloudy here in N. Texas at the moment -- I really wanted to get a picture in the sun to see if that helped or made it worse.

Thanks,
Jeff

You got the wrong yellow. BTW, millenium yellow was also available on the early C6's.

Your eyes are right. That yellow is not the same you need to see if you can exchange it

Heh, not sure what you mean't by the black spray paint remark. Just good to know my eyes aren't going crazy (which would suck by the way, I'm only 30)

Thanks for the input guys -- I shot an email to the vendor with a link to the pic and this thread. Just to be clear I'm NOT upset at all as long as it gets handled smooth. The fit/finish/and paint quality are top notch!

I had no idea that millennium yellow was offered on C6's either!

I meant you need to spray it Black (it would go with your dark windows, spoiler and lower valance) or send it back, you cannot leave it like that.

Or get a paint matched spoiler.

No your eyes are fine, it is for sure not a match.

RPI Design does in my opinion the best work when it comes to painted parts. He did the rear spoiler as well as the engine bay pieces on my C5
as well as the engine bay and license plate frame on my C6

I bought the same thing from them in NRBM and the paint looks great. Only problem with mine is they did not put the hardware in with the frame. Sounds like they have a quality control problem.

I am very familiar with both Milenium and Velocity yellows. You definitely got Milenium Yellow by mistake. I would exchange the frame.
