C7 sighting....driving down the street in Tempe, Az !!!
Hope I don't steal his thunder, but.....
By buddy, and current C6 Z06 owner and CF member Twinger01, just called me as he's cruising down the street in TEmpe, AZ next to a red C7 Corvette.....presumably the one we saw at Barret Jackson this past weekend !!!
He's talking to the driver right now and getting some cell phone pics. Car has Michigan manufature plates on it.
More details to come.

It was at my apt complex at ASU, I saw it just as it was leaving and couldn't snag a pic. It sounds really good and looks amazing. It had MI plates and had what seemed to be polished aluminum wheels that were solid 5 spoke like the Ferarri 360 Modena not the ones that were on the one at Barrett Jackson.

THe skinny.....and some bad *** news !!!!
Car in question is a wet sump LT1 car, with an A6 automatic (not the forthcoming 8 speed auto), silver wheels, glass roof, and some interior trim that is pre-production which he was not allowed to photograph.
THe driver is part of the testing/validation/engineering group for the C7 program, and there are currently 2 other cars driving around Phoenix !!!!
Now, the super bitchin' news......
THe driver is on his way to the Yuma proving grounds to continue testing a heavely camoflaged Z06 !!!!!!!
Dave asked if he could disclose any info on that car's engine, which he replied "Nope".
Pics are being uploaded from my phone now, as he sent them in a text to me.
Stand by.

The guess is this was one of the original camolfaged test mules, with the black mirrors, missing Stingray emblems......someone else mentioned the exhaust tips.

He noticed that the base seats, which were in this car, are WAY better than the current C6 seats. He wasn't able to take any interior pics, nor did the engineer elaborate on what was different or pre-production in the car interior .

Thanks for the info and pics. I dont like the look without the rear spoiler. Also, the stock wheels are typical, boring, 5 spokes.

Cool post, thanks for sharing! I've been wanting to see what a torch red C7 will look like with the non-Z51 black wheels, such as this mule.
I'm guessing he didn't get any info on this, but curious if he asked what kind of horsepower the LT1 is putting out or any performance specs other than "0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds).
Would have been even cooler if he could get a full side view or front-side view in one pic, but not complaining.

THe engineer did pass on that they are constantly looking for ways to get the weight down. He apparently said the torque tube assembly on this test mule has been modified to shave weight.
Cutting weight is always a good thing
He wouldn't elaborate on any other specifics about the details of this car.
