F/S - 1970 Stingray 454 390hp 4spd $29,000 OBO
Up for sale is a Fathom Green 1970 454 Corvette with a saddle leather interior and factory Air Conditioning. This excellent quality survivor has just over 75k miles on the original drive train and has the tank sticker to prove that it's an original 390hp 4 speed car with 3.90 gears and A/C. The only power option is power brakes which was a well done retrofit using quality GM parts. The car drives excellent on BF Goodrich 235x50x15's
The birdcage and underside of this car are in unbelievable condition for a 42 year old car with no rust what-so-ever (not even the calipers). The stainless trim and bumpers are in very good condition and everything except the radio works. The paint is an older base/clear repaint done in fathom green. The interior has the original saddle leather seats and apart from new carpeting is completely untouched although there are no seatbelts.
Please feel free to look at the pictures at the link below and post or PM your questions or offers.
Thanks,
Rick

Bruce,
The picture of the birdcage is for a 1974 car that I stripped, by the way the birdcage is for sale if you're interested. This 1970 is very original. I bought the car with no seatbelts and it looks like they were simply never reinstalled after the carpeting was replaced. The previous owner didn't have the seatbelts for the car. I can try to get some pictures of the underneath if you are seriously interested in the vehicle. For a faster response you can also email me at Rick.Conway@lhoist.com... those emails go straight to my cell.

It's been a while for you to reply. Why is the interior so worn , like the seats. Do you have the original valve covers. Does it have all the original parts. Does the AC work, how about gages. Can you send pictures of the underbody. You can call me at 514-817-9994
thanks bruce

Bruce,
Sorry for the late reply... been busy. The interior is the original saddle leather so it is worn being 42 years old the interior is driver quality but could use to be refreshed except for the carpet which is nearly new. The original parts that are missing are fairly trivial. The ones that I'm aware of that aren't there include, the seatbelts, radio, braided plug wires, valve covers, original air filter element and lid. and the smog system. I've gone over the car pretty thoroughly and it's an excellent survivor quality car with almost 80K miles. As far as I can tell the exhaust system may actually be original also because it has the black rubber coating sprayed on top of the mufflers like was done at the factory. The gauges work but I will have to double check the clock... I can't recall at the moment. The A/C has all the original parts but doesn't work. I'll work on getting some pictures of the suspension and under carriage... hopefully the pictures will do it justice. I'll try to give you a call tomorrow.

I double checked and everyone is correct the color is actually Donnybrook green as Fathom Green was the color in 1969.
Here are some pictures of the bottom as promised. As you can see the underside of the car was painted black at some point as the rear spring is black along with the half-shafts. It's still very clean and solid with no rust that I can find. As you can see in the 3rd picture from the bottom the starter was recently changed, but I still have the original. Also note that the original "rivet in" ball joints are still there.
Sorry that it took so long to get them but I've been crazy busy with work and my 1969 project.
Regards,
Rick
