Default Sport seats really more sporty????

I just studied the seat pics a little more closely and I swear the "base" seats look like they have more lateral support than the sport seats. Actually, I'm talking about the seat backs. The seat bottoms look identical.

After all the crap that has been said about the C6 seats (and lack of support) this seems very odd to me. Take a look at this picture below and tell me I'm nuts!

Totally nuts! It's obvious they are two completely different seats. Just kidding, I was taking the it's not a Camaro rear end point of view.

Playing devils advocate....

Oh and the bottoms are not identical.......for real!

Sport bottom has an extra pleat in it. What else?

And in the description it says (interim availability). What's up with that? More to come on the configuration?

Both the seats look amazing and probably feel great aswell.. About damn time they make some good seats for the Corvette.

The seat bottoms look the same to me. If someone is not going to install the harness then it probably won't be worth it to spend extra for the competition seat.

Sport seat in blue superimposed over the standard seat.

It seems that the standard seat might offer more support near the shoulder area.

I have to agree with OP. GT seats are as good or bad as competition seats in the base where it counts.

The blurry cell phone camera pictures make the Comp seats look more heavily bolstered on the seat bottom as well as the back. However, that may be a trick of angles.

Also if you look side support from lower back area, Competition seat seems to have some of bolstering cut from the top compared to GT.

So the competition seats are harness friendly obviously. BUT I wonder if there is a cross bar to bolt them down to? That is the correct way to mount a racing harness it needs to be bolted in the rear at shoulder level not to the bottom of the seats.

It just seems they are more because of style and not because of function.
