Look to 2016 to bring the 8 speed Auto tranny with a 5.5L V8 worth some type of blower attached and around 600 ponies. This is from someone I know at GM. I was told that this is why a "boost" gage is already integrated to the configurable dash. The Gen5 6.2 will then reside in Camaro and a Tahoe/Suburban variant SUV. A 6.2 with a blower could also be online for a Z06 type car also.
CORRECTION THAT SHOULD SAY 500+ Ponies MY MISTAKE SORRY.

Well thats what he said Z06 was maybe getting a 6.2. All good news however. He also said GM plans to keep C7 fresher than C6 by doing more consecutive updates to the car over its life cycle.

There's a reason Ferrari keeps their v12 NA in the F12. Not trying to knock blown engines because as everyone knows, they kick ***. But for me, NA has a certain appeal over all the blown engines dotting the automotive landscape today.

What environment? I've seen nothing but HP increases from Mustangs to Challengers. Seems like every sports/muscle car is increasing not decreasing its HP to the point Corvettes are only quicker because of its power to weight ratio.
Maybe I'm missing something?

That's coming to an end real soon especially for the heavier cars. There's a good reason why they need to keep the vette as light as possible.

My best guess is the 4.3 V6 + turbo will be base one day. That way kerb weight can stay low, and efficiency can be improved while increasing power. 5.5L + blower sounds horrible from a fuel economy point of view.

NO NO NO NO NO NO. There will NOT be a 6 banger in a Corvette! Now, if the Corvette brand is expanded to other form factors like a Solice-style Miata beater or Porsche Cayanne-style SUV or Panamera-style 4 seater...possibly.

Well, my brother's son in law has a second cousin that has a facebook friend that was on business in Detroit, that talked with a guy that was a janitor at GM, who had a conversation with a mailroom kid that was dating a secratary in R&D and...
