" there's still some old guys with money and they couldn't quite **** all of them off.." Lol
I guess I've never really considered the corvette an old mans car because I bought my first (only) corvette beofre I was 20 and see most people where I live with the c6/z06 in their 30s

"Stuck with the car (c7) for 10 or 12 years" come on man..

Lol Next time I see a car and driver mag, I'm going to read the articles from the person who is on the far right... in his condescending, snobby attitude.

Yea, he said that Corvette is following the design "Dead End" that Porsche is on path with the 911....are you kidding me?? I think the C7 is a Huge step in the Evolution of the Corvette. I keep playing the Vid of Good Morning America and that car just comes alive seeing it in motion !!!! The day it hits the street can't come fast enough.

Exactly I would be betting 99% of people would also say the c7 is a huge evolutionary step in corvette. The current corvette shape is fantastic in both looks and dynamics and there is no reason to change it for generations to come.

I just love this new Vette. When I see it spinning there on the carousel, I even start to like the grey color.

This car is making me like colors I don't like.

The fascinating thing about the C7 is that it has no competition. I mean let's face it, what is the first car one would take over a C7 and at what price does it come in at?

CD said the C7 comes in at $53k. The first comparable car for me would be, I don't know I guess the Viper, at like $45k more!

Yep... I'm waiting to find out cost on the FE4 Z51. That's the package I'd be going with. Not digging the idea that the base doesn't have a rear sway bar.

Easy. A used c6z06. Faster, better looking, lighter, more displacement, and a proven track performer.

There is always a better bang for the buck in the used car market. I meant between new cars. When C7 will be for sale C6 will be clearing stock, even so C6 ZO6 will cost more new, and IMO does not compare bang for the buck. The extra weight on the C7 is mostly in things that matter, like a contemporary interior.

If you want a stripper car I bet the C7 stripped will weigh pretty much the same as a stripped out C6 Z06.

Go to a corvette club meeting or a car show

My dad started a local corvette club about 30-40 years ago locally and went back for the first time in 20 years or so. He's in his mid 60's and he said he felt like a spring chicken. None of the old guys cared about cars either. Just a ton of red automatic stock convertibles. I actually got so bored I left the meeting half way through to go out and look at the cars. There was zero car talk going on too, which was weird. I'm used to going to a car club meeting and doing nothing but talking about cars for hours. Silly me.

I also find it odd about the rear sway bar thing. Seems like a very strange thing for a car like a Vette to do. Perhaps the FE1 has stiff rear springs?

he is an idiot. Gm has already mentioned that the cycle time will not be 9 or 10 years like the past.

Don't know where you live, but around my area guys in their 20s and 30s bought their Corvettes second-hand. There aren't many who have the cash, especially for Z06s, to buy new from GM. Truth is, the people with that kind of money are mainly older.

In my area, a lot of owners of used Corvettes are in their 50-60's. A kid making 12 bucks an hour isn't even buying a used C4. One thing I've noticed with my neighbor's teenagers. They perfer a 4 door 5 passenger sedan as they can carry their friends around. In fact my next door neighbor's 17 year old drives a old Civic station wagon that I sold to her 10 years ago, The kid(male) could care less about the car, it's all about being with his friends, and two seater cars don't carry many friends.
