Default Markups

I predict that Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson TX will have a $20K "Market Adjustment" on the C7.

When the C6 was introduced, the "adjustment" was $15K. They wouldn't even let me sit in the car on the showroom floor. Of course, I was in a suit too

I contacted a dealer friend who was able to be me one for $450 over invoice (as long as I agreed not to sell it for a year) Got it on Oct 1.

Drove it back to Reliable, wearing a T-shirt, cap, and jeans, walked in and asked to sit in the same car. The refused!

I asked the salesman if he wanted to sit in mine. He about fainted.

I don't mean to jump into your post

Please Forum Member's, don't get me confused with the store in TX. I just returned from Detroit where I was able to see the C7 up close. It's truly an awesome car. I'm currently taking deposits to secure orders @ $1,000 below MSRP.

Please give me a call.

Thanks,

Don't feel to bad, I live in SoCal and the deaalers here also did the over MSRP ordeal. The problem was there are 3 dealers in CA that deal way under MSRP, so they sold a lot of Corvettes. Timing is also an issue, time of month, time of year make a difference how much you'll pay for a car.

Nice to see there are some dealers understanding, a little profit is better than nothing!

Market Adjustments are a real turn off. Whenever I see one I think "What nerve these people have." They think we're stupid and they're not afraid to let us know how greedy they are. Good way to lose sales.

That is the first order offer that I have seen under MSRP. How much is your paperwork fee?

The showoffs who just have to be first deserves the raping from the dealerships. They get no sympathy from me.

My dealership does have an administration fee of $199 that I hate. When I price my cars I always reduce the car by the amount of the fee to absorb it. When the final numbers come through, you'll see my price be $1,199 below MSRP and then the $199 added back at the end.

Thanks,

Wes

Do you have plenty of allocation?

Probably because it makes some kind of guarantee/contract that you will get one. Lets say you see that MSRP is 55k for the model you want, and they are charging 57k for it. Arguments ensue because you feel like you were promised a car because you had a deposit down, blah blah blah.

A lot of people won't do this so either party can back out if they need to with no strings attached.

I've never had a problem with allocations. GM works allocations on a turn and earn basis. Thanks to everyone on the Forum, earning is good.

That is more than fair, and will hopefully earn you a lot of orders.

Museum Delivery, in my opinion, is one of the best options available on the Corvette. If one chooses to take delivery at the museum, it is their responsibility to get their car to it's final destination. I've had plenty of Texans enjoy the drive home from Bowling Green.
