Default 1989 Soft top frame ok or broken at hinges?

The original top is on this 1989.
The bottom of the soft top frame that runs along the bottom back and then around each side, where there appears to be a pivoting hinge on each side.
Is it supposed to be in two sections here and bend at the hinge? Or, did it break on both sides at the same spot?
Just seems kind of odd when you lift it up the way it bends.
And, over years, the soft top shows more wear and cracking there, making me not sure.

From what I can see in the pics, it appears normal. I had an 89 conv. for 12 years. The weak link is the back window as it is plastic.

Thank you for the response. It just seems odd the way it lifts up.
I haven't seen another one in person to compare yet.
