Some looked like they were doing it to avoid rock chips but most looked like they were doing it to close any air gaps that could cause drag.

I believe a stock LS3 will be 160ish.

It takes a bunch more hp to get another 20-40 mph at the top.

Just guessing with out any real world experience of any kind but I would am thinking that around 700 hp would be needed to break near 190 mph.

Others with experience can chime in, it would be enlightening to know.

Stock ZR1s have run the Texas Mile in the low 180's...I got to 178. It's all about the shifting...!

I have a ZR1 with the 710 Lingenfilter package and did 183 at the Texas Mile in October. First time to an event like this, so I am sure my shifting left a lot to be desired. It was one hell of a rush to go from a stand still to 180+- in a mile!

You might hit 165 in the mile from a dig.

Suprising the added power needed at those speeds, for the measured mile.
