1986 clutch issue
I recently purchased a 86 z51 coupe. The clutch pedal is stuck to the floor and I mean its so stuck I can't even pull it up by hand. I have plenty of mechanical experience just limited clutch experience. Would anyone know where to begin on servicing this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have only incountered this in older cars..i'm talking 60s here. On those, it was the pressure plate. With these clutch slave cylinders and what not..lets wait for someone that has a "modern" vette for input.

Well, mechanically the clutch pedal hinges on a bolt through a bracket up under the dash, although doesn't seem likely that would have seized. The pedal is also physically connected to a rod that goes into the clutch master cylinder (next to the power brake booster). I would suspect a problem with the clutch master cylinder, like the piston/plunger assembly being frozen or seized.

Slave cylinder also has a plunger type assembly in it, like the clutch master. If either are stuck, the clutch is going nowhere. Then again, I've also heard of this same issue about the flywheel being a possible.
