Need Opinions on 2013 427 Deal
Looked at a new 427 vert today and would like input from you guys on the proposed deal. I figure there are no better tire kickers than on this site.
MSRP: 92980.00
Sale Price: 77980.00
Trade in : 28500.00
Trade is my 2007 Corvette coupe with 3LT package and every option offered in 2007. It has 7800 miles, one owner, never wrecked, excellent condition.
So, do I pull the trigger?

For THAT price, I would suggest you work in an air freshener or something. Maybe a plastic slip cover over the seats or paper floor mats?
Price looks good to me. It's your dime....what do YOU think?
ps...make sure your Air Freshener is a "New Car" smell. Hahahaha
Soon to be CONGRATS!!

I think it is a good deal. Mine was similar and I was tickled pink to be getting the car below invoice given that I would have expected the limitedness of production would have justified a premium. I don't think you could do much, if any, better.

Go for it! I assume the discount includes your $3000 Corvette owner loyalty? That MSRP has to be an Anniversary car with the wheel upgrade right? Mine listed for $91420.

the numbers look good to me. so, for $49K you're in a brand new, and the last model of the C6 which is a few thousand more than when you got in your '07 (and your '07 is 6 model years old). plus, my take on it is they threw a lot of things into this essentially one-off, 427 convertible, such as the 427. if you can do it, and you want to, I don't see any reasons not to.

been looking around a bunch, and it seems like a fair deal to me. if your wallet can handle it and its the one you want, enjoy it today instead of wondering tomorrow.

I don't think you will ever find a better deal than that one and you will love that 427! I have an 09 427 Z06 and a 2013 427 vert in crystal red metallic w tan interior and love the car! I'd say run, don't walk to that deal if you can afford it!

The deal looks pretty, but I would have to wait until the C7 is out before I spend that kind of money on the C6.

I like the price on the 427 but I don't like the trade offer. I kept my 06, but I would have sold it myself rather than trade it in. The Dealer is going to give you an amount that he can make money on in a resale. KBB lists your car as having a value of $34,408 in a private party sale.

The deal looks good on the vert but I too don't like the money offered on the trade. Your coupe sounds like it's a real nice car. You might want to try to sell it yourself. Might net you at least another couple thousand (or more). Good luck with the end result.

If you sell your 07 yourself, you will need an extra 27K to buy the 427. Unless you sell it first. You will pay more sales tax if your state has one. You will have more paper work to handle and have to deal with low ballers and tire kickers. It may be worth the effort, but it's your call.

I have a 10 vert with 3,200 miles and 3LT w/nav. I simply can't justify the $32k plus tax for a 427.
I know they are limited production, one time only cars, but, for $49k you could wait a year or 2 and pick up one used for that money. Then you would have both a coupe and vert

That deal looks pretty good. I would go for another 500-1000 on the trade. It does not cost anything to ask and you may get lucky. I'm not one to kill the dealer but every dealer I know has way more money than I do. It's nothing personal just a business deal, money in your pocket or the dealers. I have sat across the table for >30 minutes over $100. I don't know about your income but I don't make $100 an hour. I also don't pay high prep or handling fees. As soon as it is close to making an offer I tell ask to see the dealers form checking for the fixed cost items and resolve that before proceding.

I too have a 07 and I thought I just had to have a 427 conv. The deal looks good and right there with the best deal I could find. In the end I just could not get myself to pay $46K more for a car that was the same as I had except for the engine not to mention the C7 hit I was going to take in January. I only had 9K miles on my conv.
Mine is at the shop as we speak getting some go fast work on the motor. It will no longer be a garage queen. I can hear that cam with the dual mode exhaust right now. I understand though, different strokes for different folks. Good luck on your decision.
