New Console lid installed with Pic
Installed my new console lid I got from our CF Vendor GM Parts Direct. Good price and quick shipping, good quality. Perfect fit and finish.
Here is a pic of the OEM and New Lid so you can see the difference.
Before
After
Very simple to install and all you need is a T15 to remove 4 screws. Took all of 10 mins. Use care not to over tighten the screws back in place, nice snug up will do.
I may consider putting something on the embroidery like Scotch Guard. Looks like my arm will be resting right on the embroidered Corvette emblem and it may look dirty after some use. I think it’s a nice addition to the interior and happy with it.
Hope this helps!

Question for Jkbride:
Does this new console lid have more padding then OEM? It is the benefit the logo?
My 08 z06 console lid is hard plastic, so my reason for looking for a replacement is for padding /comfort.
Also, how much did it cost?
Thanks!

You may find over time the emblem to be annoying...In the summer it becomes abrasive to your arm when resting on the lid and its hard to keep clean...I had that on my 07 but learned form it.
Hopefully it won't bother you.

For those who want more cushioning and a no-emblem surface, MidAmerica and some of the other vendors offer this version, slips over the original lid and held in place by original lid screws.
It has some extra padding built in, I cut a piece from a thin (~1/8") exercise foam pad and taped that to the original lid before installing the cover.
We've had them on our 2006 and now 2009 at 63k miles, cleans up easily just like the vinyl surfaces on the seats.
Also available in contrast-stitched or two tone.
