The " NEW C-7 " Corvette
The more I read about the new C-7 the more I believe its a C-6 with a few refinements. I keep hearing " why change a good thing...... a proven design ..... how do you improve on perfection " and the list goes on. I would like to know what causes it to be a C-7 over the current C-6 ? Is this just sales talk for something new ? Who decides when to change the number ? 2014 is probably going to be a good year to buy a new version as they keep the same design for years with small detail changes. The C-6 design was current for 9 model years. The 14 model should take you into 2025.
The only good senario is the C-6 resale drops so owners of older versions can afford to update. How does one brag to his friends he has the latest and greatest if you can't tell them apart ? If they make the bumper covers interchangable ........ we all will have C-7s instantly !
* Not that I am being cynical. I have 4 vettes parked in my garage and have room for one more. Please make the new version a stand out design departure and less of a race car. I barely have a drivers license and insurance now.

It may resemble the c6 slightly as it may resemble the Ferrari something or other as well. There are 2 carry over parts, the rear latch for the top and the cabin air filter. So the top will be similar and behind the glove will be similar.Thats it.Oh,and if were a betting man,and I am,I'd say they still haven't made a spot for the front plate people!

I was thinking "here we go again" until I read your last two lines.
I think it's time you sell your vettes and buy the new Cadillac xts or maybe a 4 cylinder Lincoln. Multiple signs point to that.

84-90 cars didn't really drop when the 91 released. but they all did when the c5 came on and really fell off a cliff when the c6 released.
such is the nature of aging consumables

When the C7 starts being driven around, and seen on the streets, the whole corvette buzz will give a small increase to resale of previous generations.
Yep, increase not decrease.
Then 2 or 3 tears later they will will resume typical depreciation.
Truth.

I have no doubt that you will have NO problem telling the C7 from the C6. If they told us that only two parts are the same from the C6, I believe them. That said, that doesn't mean that some parts wouldn't fit between the two.
