I know it is expensive, but I have still been getting the old green stuff from the GM dealer......I just don't want to risk being one of the stories I have heard about.

I was told NOT to go with the pre-mixed type when we rebuilt my motor.

Brett,

I've used the 50/50 Prestone stuff w no problem. It costs more and I finally went w my own mix.

As long as the premix is not the one that says "for all colors/types", it's fine to use. It has to still meet the proper 1825 spec.

I get my antifreeze from Carquest or Napa.

Make sure you mix with distilled water and not tap water.

Default Coolant Selection Summary

In Summary Coolant Selection

You want to only use the green coolant. They have it at Napa and it meets 1825M GM Spec.

For Zerex the first gallon is called Regular Green Coolant (GM 1825M), the second gallon is called Original Formula (GM 1825M) and the third gallon is called G-05 Formula (GM 1825M). Zerex ZXRU1 is 50-50 and Zerex ZX001 is undiluted. The fourth gallon is NAPA coolant (GM 1825M).
