Default MCS (Mikes Custom Steering)

Hi Corvette Forum Users
My name is Mike Kirby and i am glad to say we are manufacturing C- 6 custom d shape steering wheels in the USA. Also have some custom re wraps for 2012/ 2013 corvettes as well as c-5. I have attached some pics of the steering wheels we produce. MCS applies the same polyurethane injection process as the big three to acheive a repeatable product with fit and function not being short cut. Please check out my web site to see some of the other products we make and produce. MCS web site is
[www.mikescustomsteering.com] I wanted to let everyone know that we are very passonate about our products and hope you guys will consider MCS for your Steering wheel upgrades . I will update the corvette community as we go down this path of expanding and growing in the Bowling Green Ky. area. Please come by and see our booth at the 31st corvette homcoming in BG,KY in mid july.
The C- 5 Re- wraps with standard color hides start at $375.00 plus a core return. The c-5 cores can be scarice, so we use new stock in our cores and will only take cores back that do not have any damage or air bag dis charge. Functional cores will only be consider for return . The cores cost 296.00 new stock from www.gmpartshouse.com
MCS also has a variety of exotics hides availible as well..
thank you very much,
MCS

Thanks Guys ,
I really appreciate the feed back . It has taking a little while to get this company off the ground. I wanted to make sure MCS could handle the demmand from a quality and delivery standpoint before we started our Forum adventures.
Thanks very much,
Mike

Nice to see you on board! It is cool that you haven't limited your product to just the C6 market. We here are still spending the high dollar on these 15 year old cars! Other vendors could do well to adopt this approach...

Default C-5 program

Thank Guys,
Some have ask about a c-5 shape change. We build RIM injection molds for our products which can be very exspensive since we use american tool shops for the builds. The problem we have found is that there is not a adequate supply of c-5 new cores to justify the tool program. Hopefully we will be strong enough one day to persue our own armature manufacturing division which we would be able to support the c-5 in a repeatable shape change design. MCS has some options with the oem core to be able to apply custom colors or a exotic leather application for your liking.
Thank you,
Mike

Hi Dark Knight,
MCS in not allowed to alter the center air bag/horn cover. You might find a hand pin striper and see if he could color your flags for you. I have seen this done and doesn't look to bad.
Thank You,
Mike

Hi,
I did work with the ace guys . My position was Sales/Marketing Mgr. for six months before they decided the after market industry was to much work for them and suddently shut ace down with know warning to us. I belived in the product and very much enjoy the corvette community so i purchased the equipment and finally got my company off the ground.
Thanks for your interest,

You are one great guy! You may not remember but last summer I ordered a steering wheel in tan and black and a boot for the shifter and emergency brake. You were going to install at Carlisle but...I had a heart attack and missed the show for the first time in years. I still want the wheell if you will install at carlisle with the boots. Please PM me and let me know if you can do it and the price. I will give a deposit of course.
Regards,
Jeff

Default MCS C-5 RE- WRAP Installed pic

MCS c-5 re wrap installed in this very nice corvette. During the homecoming alot of you guys ask about exotic hides. MCS has a large supply chain for exotic hides . The issue is, you need to special order these hides so the pattern can be carried throughout your corvette and stay consistant in color as well as pattern and this can be costly. I suggest if your having your interior upgraded with an exotic hide make sure you get extra leather so you can have you steering wheel matched up correctly. The steering wheel does require the more pliable area of the hide forsure on the more technical steering wheel applications designs. We can apply exotic hides to either our shape change or re wrap steering wheels.

thanks,
Mike
