Default What year and how much?

What year is your C3 and how much did you pay for it? Included in this what condition and what mods were done to it? Finally how much would you sell it for right now in its current condition? I think with a thread like this if we get enough responses it can really give people an idea how much to really pay for a C3 Corvette.

I paid $5,750 for my 1976 L48 3spd fair to good condition.
I would sell it for $10,000 right now given I have swapped a LT1/T56 into it along with side pipes and a nice paint job. I wish I had a pic to post, maybe next month

You may also want to include "when" in the list of parameters, the more recent, the more relevant.

I bought my bone stock 74 LS4, M21, 3.36, A/C T-Top car 3/2010. $10K

Low #3 driver car...barely acceptable dyed/painted interior.

Re-did entire interior, had trans rebuilt, and other odds and ends, brakes exhaust etc.
Now high #3 driver car.

Id like to think the car is worth 12K, but if I were trying to sell it, Im sure that I wouldnt be able to get more than the $10k I spent in the first place

I bought my 82 for 4750 in October 2011. The birdcage and frame are excellent. It had a new paint job. The mods are headers, true dual exhaust, crossfire replaced with 4 bbl edelbrock carb. Just needs some interior work

Bought my 77 three years ago via local Craigslist... paid $450 which included clear title, but not much else. Absolutely rust free which is why I have about $6K in it now but would probably get much less if forced to sell because it isn't fully assembled yet.

I paid $12,000 for mine from a seller on e bay. It was advertised as having a new interior and a perfect paint job. I bought the car after a few e amils from the owner telling me how nice the car was. I got it home and started digging. The only thing new in the interior was the rugs and seats. The rest was repainted crap. After spending 1500 on new parts and plastic trim pieces the interior is now brand new and looks it.
As for the paint, it was a new paint job it just wasn't wetsanded and buffed out. The bumpers were also wavy. I bought flex bumpers and will repaint the front and rear bumper areas after they are installed and then clear the whole car. And then it will be a perfect paint job. The car is solid and rides great. But after all is said and done I will probably have put $5000 into getting the car the way I wanted it.

After I am done I would probably ask $18,000 for it. If I got it I don't know but I don't plan on selling it.

1971 Convertible bought in southern CA from a Craigslist ad on 3.30.2012.
Paid $13,500. Orig Brands Hatch Green, now badly oxidized red.
Base engine, rebuilt (according to PO, no documentation given to me). Block decked so engine suffix removed. Original engine? Not likely.
It did come with the original Rochester QJ but no air cleaner.
Original 4-speed, shifts very well.
Barely ran due to rust in gas tank, bad carb and timing set wrong.
Seat covers decent shape, carpet terrible, soft top in bad shape.
PO said it was stored outside 3 months; more likely 2 years.
Lots of surface rust but nothing more problematic found so far.
Every piece of weatherstripping either gone or petrified.
Already put $1500 in it but hard to tell. Hopefully, after pro buff, maybe re-clear, paint will be 7 out of 10 which is good enough at this point.

What's it worth today? Given the market, doubt I could make any money. Doesn't matter - 4-speed vert was what I wanted and now that it runs well, I'm a happy boy.

Telling us what year it is, coupe/convertible, etc, would probably be helpful.

I wonder how many people planning on posting a car for sale are going to post here with their buying prices?

1975 TTop, 4spd, L48, Dark Red, balck leather inter, completely stock, 6,147 original miles, garage stored, I am the 3rd owner. Needed new front and rear bumper covers, new brakes, new tires, and the tach fixed. Paid $6,000 about a month ago.

Now that everything is fixed and she looks dang near new I wouldnt sell her.

I think some of you are missing the point, I wouldn't sell my vette either but IF I did it would be no less than 10,000, just a hypothetical situation on what you would expect to get out of her.

i bought my 71BB 4 spd mille miglia coupe 8 years ago for 8 g's and a 95 bmw 740iL. put headers on it, replaced the holley with a qj, chambered exhaust. had carb and distributor rebuilt by lars. paint is a 7 out of 10. have no plans on selling but if i had to probably wouldn't take any less than 22,000.

This is a good thread, and I like reading about the PO stories. For my 3Cs
here is my guesstimation.

Year bought price sell price updates
1972 $12,000 $20,000 If I could get this price I could recoup all my upgrades. Carpet, seats, interior, brakes, rear end.
1973 $12,500 $20,000 This is a 454, 4 speed , AC car. new brakes, top end, carpet, seats, interior, t tops, gauges, exhaust.
1975 $7500 $10,000 L-82, fully loaded, AC great paint and interior.
1986 $5000 $5000 REALLY???? Almost no cost between buying and selling. It is a great looking car, but high miles. 175,000
