Call me biased, but....
I think C4's, especially well taken care of cars, are getting more attention than new vettes.
Since purchasing my first vette a year ago, I've attended a few local car shows around, where a lot of c5 and c6 show up. Then there I am with my C4, still as clean and new looking as when I bought it last year from minnesotawhite. I see people walking past the new vettes with their store bought engine dress up kits, and factory paint, and don't give them a second glance....then they get to my C4 and ooh and ah at how good it still looks after being 16 years old. People on the forums can say what they want about the C4 being the step child of the vettes, I think a clean c4, with some slight mods or personal touches is far more interesting than a brand new vette with color matched "seen one you seen 'em all" dress up kits. Don't get me wrong, I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could, but as for showing, I love my C4 and like looking at other well maintained cars. Just seems more interesting to me.

When I first got my C4 and still had my '06 C6, I was doing a side job (auto repair) on a girl's car. She was younger (early 20's/college). Anyway, she came to pick up her car, and the garage door was open and in there were the '92 and the '06, side by side. We started talking about them and I completely assumed that she, being younger would think the C6 was "dope", and the C4...not. So I was biasing my conversation toward the C6, and she said, smiling. "Yeah, that car is nice...but I like THAT one!" -pointing toward the C4. I was surprised, but thought that her taste and opinion was pretty sweet!

You're biased ! I like C4s, but C6s are just sweet. With the exception of the C5, they get better looking every year. Maybe it's because I've had mine so long that I'd prefer something else.

In the shows I go to, I'm one of just a couple C4's with the majority being C5 and C6's, with a couple 2 and 3's thrown in. I watch the people looking at all the Vettes and I think the clamshell hood opening draws the attention more than anything else. More things showing under there so people can see what's going on. The C2's draw the most attention, everybody like those.

nothing sparks my attention at the local shows and cruise-in's like an, early (pre 91), c4, especially a clean, un-restored example. c5's and c6's are so "everyday" - seen one, you've pretty much seen them all... (gawd, i've let myself open on that one - ). now, don't get me wrong, fives and six'rs are great performing, and handling cars - i've owned several, but early c4's, especially 85's and 90's, are my absolute favorite corvettes.

I have that general point of view with older cars in general. Theres a guy by my house with a 91 Accord, not a spot of rust. It looks like it just left the showroom, and that extra element turns even a car like that into a beauty.

Yay!!! The 27th C4s are better than C5s and C6s thread of the week.
Seriously HP, can we just make a sticky?

...c5's and c6's are so "everyday"
...not to mention the basis of the entire thread itself.

Just wait, in maybe 10 years, if this forum still exists, there will be weekly rants about how you couldn't give a C4 away in 2010 and now they are all in the hands of collectors with big wallets.

Well thank goodness for that Mayan calendar thing. We won't have to live to read that.

After all these years, I still find you guys entertaining... I don't see where anyone has mentioned that the C4 is better than the C5 or C6, just admiration for the C4 generation. Now let me go look at my '93 in the garage with it's clamshell up.....
