How do you remove the timing set crankshaft gear? And install it?
I am putting a new timing set on my new short block, but was wondering how the heck you are supposed to pull the timing set crankshaft gear off without damage? (pic is of my old block) And more importantly, how do I install the new one without damage to my new crank and new timing gear?

I made one with a piece of 1/8" steel, a hole saw, and a drill and tap.
Doesn't look pretty like that, but worked fine. You can use your old part to tap on the new one.

I used a three jawed puller to remove. Then made my own installation tool out of threaded rod stock with a nut welded on the end. Then I use an old bearing race and nut to do the actual pressing into place.
