Default C6 Seat Problems

Howdy forum members,

Just graduated Texas A&M and bought my first vette (2005 Blacked out 3LT with an LS3 swap).

I am fixing a couple of minor issues on the vehicle and am down to the drivers side seat. The memory module works, heating system works, and the lumbar system is functioning properly. However, it seems that the power seat adjuster isn't working.

All the fuses seem to be fine, so at this point all it can be is the seat motor or the seat controller module? or at least that is my best guess.

Any tips or thoughts?

Some C6's have connector problems. I know I did. The first thing you need to do is check the connectors under the seat. The picture below shows mine that I zip tied together. I pulled the tie very tight. This could solve your problem.

I verified that the fuse is good and it is. Unfortunately my buddy is borrowing my socket set so I can't take the seat out till the weekend.

Does anyone know what kind of voltage levels that 6 pin connector puts out? Id guess 5V or 12V, but if anyone knows for sure that would be great! I am going to try and send the motor some voltage and see if it moves the seat to verify that its the controller and not the motor.

Thanks ChevyDave and VET4LES for the info!

I didn't take my seat out. I moved it back and up. I know you can't move it but try sticking your hand under it and pulling the wires out. If you can't do that try using a yard stick or something similar and move them around. That might be enough to get it to move.

Well, its the controller I'm almost 100% sure. The connector on the switch wasn't plugged in, and after I plugged it in and tried to start the car it seemed to short the car to ground and now my battery is dead. Its been a wonderful day.
