Default Personalized License Plate in Texas

I have a plate I want to get, but I just want the letters and I don't care about the background.

Has anyone found a way to get 6 letters on a plate for less than 195 a year through my plates?

I think 195 is too much to say a smart saying on the back.

If you found a site that gives 6 letters, let me know please.

Yeah, I feel your pain......moved to TX last May and got quickly discouraged from having the personalized tag when I found out the cost. After stroking a check for north of $700 to register 3 cars, I decided to stick w/ standard issue

I guess I got mine before the price hike because it's still only an extra $40 a year for me. Cost is around $100 give or take.

You can still get specialty plates for an additional $40, but you have to select a background of some kind.

You got yours before someone got a kick back to use a 3rd party company.

It all depends on the number of letters and characters. My was $225 for 5 years. All letters would have been over 500 for 5 years.

yeah, I got mine pretty cheap because I chose a 3 letter 3number combo. I f I chse something more customized it would have cost much more. I don't really like the cost either but the choises are nicer than in most states.

Our personalized plates used to be inexpensive. No longer. I just dropped the one for the Miata that I'd had for years on earlier Corvettes. I paid the $500 fee for ten years on the one I have now so that no one can use it but it's going to become an expensive piece of art hanging on the wall. I flat a** refuse to pay an additional $40 a year over and above the base renewal fee.
