Default C6/C7 Production Schedule

From what I've been able to discern, C6 2012 production will end sometime in May and C7 production tooling starts in September 2012. If this is true, what will be built between May and September?? Will the C7 be a 2013 or a 2014?

Sign me confused,
Tom

We've been told that 2013 model year C6 production going to begin in May 2012 and run for about nine months. The C7 is a 2014 model, some of which will be produced in 2013.

There should be about 9 months of C6 production for 2013 MY.
The C7 will come out in 2013 as a 2014.

There may be quite a few 2014 C7s built next year before the calendar end.

In reference to the second part of your question, between the time production ends on the 2013 MY C6 and production begins on the 2014 MY C7, nothing will be built at the plant. Plant conversions, new equipment installations, test runs, etc are what we are told will be taking place during that time.

From everything we know here on the forum, it looks like C7 will be 2014 model year. Start of build probably mid-late 2013.

Plant will be down starting Jan 2013 or feb 2013 will take about 4 to 5 months to update plant come back on line July 2013. This a best guess estimates.

If I understand this right, 2012 C6 production will end and C6 2013 production will start in May/June of 2012 continuing till Jan/Feb 2013. Re-tooling will start then until July 2013 with C7 production starting then. This would indicate that the 2013 will have a very limited production run?? Is that right??

Thanks everyone for your responces!

The 2013 is only going to be a 9 month run. Everytime there is a model change over always look for delays. I don't see the 2014 Vette being ready for sale until the fall of 2013.

...and, let's hope that BG doesn't have similar production problems to what occurred between the C3 and C4...
took so long that GM skipped the 1983 model year (for the Corvette) and went right to 1984 !

Default 2014 Corvette Stingray Schedule.

I've already placed my order. It was the first of a small quantity of early orders allotted to Chevrolet dealers, the number based on their past performance selling Corvettes. I am assuming that I will receive delivery 4-6 weeks after the start of production, which I'm guessing will be in the Sept/Oct time frame. So I'm expecting to get mine in late 4th Quarter.

Placed an order for a C7 in January 2014 with my Canadian dealer. The 1st order on his list for 2015. Anybody have any idea when I might see my car? The dealer's 2014 allocations are all sold. Trading in my 09 Shelby for this C7.
