Paul Newman's Corvette Racer to Hit Auction Block
Paul Newman was an amazing racer and I figured you guys might appreciate this. His last Corvette racer is going to be auctioned off in Florida next month.

Unless everything on the car has been changed: It does not have a
346 ci fuel injected engine, does not have a six speed gear box and does not have an independent rear suspension.
More likely: it still has a carbureted SB2, with a Hewland 5 speed gearbox and a nine inch Ford stick axle rear end

I'd like confirmation of either, though.

Wonder what it will go for. Seems like those things either go dirt cheap or for stupid money cuz of the name associated with it.

Safety Car
This one is being discussed over on Facebook.
" We believe it is Huffaker chassis, Tom Gloy racing #88 by Butch Leitzinger w/Tommy Bahama sponsorship. Paul bought and re-painted w/Bob Sharp Datsun colors. Paul's age was the number on the door. Unfortunately he never got to race it w/# 83"
Even the chassis in the car is in dispute. It'll probably still bring big money. This is a Barrett-Jackson kind of deal.
