Default 1957 Dual Quad Help

I am looking for some help with a 2x4 Intake that I believe to be original from a 1957 Corvette.

My Dad passed away last year, he rebuilt several older Corvettes, and we have come across boxes of parts from 1957 to 1962.

Can anyone tell me if this is from a 1957, and/ or which of the two HP options this is? I believe there was something like a 245 HP & 270 HP available.

It has 3 different sets of air cleaners, that also appear to be original, and in "original" condition. (not restored).

Any help would be great. Once I know for sure what this is, my next task is to find it a good home, I have a '79 and an '01 and have no real use for it.

the carbs look like they maybe 245hp but can't be sure from these pictures.Need the numbers off of the tops of the carbs as well as the center sections.The small air cleaners do not appear to be originals.The one piece air cleaner looks to be an original but again can't be sure from theses pictures.

You should post this in the general C1/C2 discussion forum...this is the C1/C2 cars for sale forum.
Both 245HP and 270HP 'real' dual quads will have 6-1299 air horn numbers. You need a picture from the top straight down the throat of the carbs to show what angle the primary nozzles are cut at. Easiest way to determine which version of the carbs you have. These don't look like high-HP models because of the short counterweight arm on the side. You also need a shot of the OTHER side of the carbs to see if they have the idle air bypass screw in the base...if they do then they are '56 carbs (some of which made it onto early '57 cars)...

The 57-61 2x4 manifolds are all the same, regardless of HP.

Correct!
They should have the figure 8 holes in both bores under the carburetor -- have the "winters snowflake' symbol on them and a casting number of: 3739653

Also, the 56-57 2x4 air cleaners were TWO individual LOUVERED cleaners. The louvers were like those on the big cleaner.
That big, single cleaner is a 60-61 (two pieces) and the filter could be changed. The 58-59 big cleaner looked the same, BUT, the top and bottom pieces were crimped together and the filter could not be changed, only cleaned------------------sort of.
Those other individual air cleaners are aftermarket, NOT Corvette.

You should sort through your departed Dad's collection of C1 parts and post them for sale here. I'm sure he would have loved to see them get a nice home with a needy vette owner!

Thank you, I'm having difficulty getting the top view pictures attached, I think the file sizes were too big. I need to find a lower resolution like a 3.1 megapixel camera.

Both the front & rear carb have a "1299" stamped on them.
What you're saying makes sense and seems consistent with my recollection from years ago in Dad's garage. My best guess was that he got it from a buddy that switched to the higher HP 2x4 setup. He was restoring his '60 with an original 283. I recall him changing his mind deciding to keep his stock, so put this on the shelf, where it has sat for 30+ years.

I'll get some new pictures from the top as soon as I can.

That is EXACTLY what I want to do & I know that's what Dad would want. I want to find "good homes" for a fair, reasonable price for both the buyer and the seller.
I thought I knew a lot about Corvettes, but as I go through these boxes, I find that I only know what about half of the parts are. There is a convertible soft top frame, hoods, a decklid, complete headlight assemblies...

Some of those items are worth some $$$ such as the matched dual quads and the original soft top frame. Do your homework so you know how to value them !
