Default C6 Grand Sport Subwoofer Enclosure

I am looking for a pre-built sub boxes that will hold a 10" subs for each side. I do not want to lose the ability to put my targa top in the trunk (I have a 2010 GS). In addition, I would like for them to match the carpet in the car - any suggestions?

Pics would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Scott

You really only need one in a car as small as a vette, but if you're looking for both sides:

Dennis at DoubleDMods.com (forum vendor) also has a selection. You may also want to search for "Subthump". And if you go with a single 10", new forum vendor Boxology sells a driver side box, and they're coming out with a new box for larger (depth) 10's like the JL w6 series.

Well, here is a pic of the 'VetteNuts' speaker box installed in my 2011 GS Coupe. I believe this same box is also sold by Dennis at 'DoubleDmods':

I am using an 8" subwoofer in mine, but this same box is also made for a 10" too. If you want 2 of these, they fit perfectly in your cubbys on each side, but as mentioned before, you only need 1 since the overall interior area of the Corvette is pretty small.

The carpeting on the box is a perfect match for the Ebony OEM carpeting in the car ... The whole deal looks like it came that way from the factory.

Gentlemen,
Forgive me asking a nubie and most likely dumb question. How would you hook the sub to my current audio? I have a 2011 3LT Bose (U65) With XM non-nav radio.

Making one of these is an option

Or get an aoem

http://shop.doubledmods.com/Pac-Audi...-aoem-gm24.htm

Use white wire at B3 as trigger for sub amp

Look into the JL Stealthbox if you havent already. A quality 10" driver in a light weight professionally made enclosure with JL R&D and warranty behind it. Supurb, clean bass with the ability to get plenty loud if wanted. Top fits in back just fine. As said already one quality 10" is plenty(for most) in the Corvette cabin. When its all said and done not much more green than most of the lesser offerings.

Dave Hale (original designer of subwoofer boxes for C5 and C6's in many different styles) now works in house with us. His work speaks for itself, and he is a great addition to our team, with his attention to detail, and his eye towards continuity and a completed look with his subwoofer box designs.

We have been very happy with the results as well, from the way his subwoofer boxes sound.

Here is a link to the audio section of our site, and we are adding all of his designs and products daily. Let us know if you have any questions, or would like us to build you a one off item.

I just installed the subthump partition box this weekend and am very happy with it, you can still store the top, get a partition, and don't lose access to the rear storage cubbies.

You do lose more hatch space than with a corner box, but I wanted to keep the rear storage bins as I keep a jumper pack on one side and quick detailing supplies on the other. I also wanted a partition anyways so that figured in as well. There is still room to throw a couple duffel bags in the back which is all I ever really need. Not really a factor for me but it was also cheaper than most of the corner boxes by a good margin, even more so if you consider the partition benefit.

The dual 8" box is sized near perfectly for what most 8" drivers want out of a sealed box. The single 8" box is sized for ported tuning. If you just want to fill the sound out a single good 8" will outpower the Bose system. Two solid 8's are loud enough for actual use, save showing off. My ears were ringing a little after just tuning the dual 8's in and getting all the amp settings dialed.

I'd say you can't really go wrong with this box or one of the corner boxes with a 10". As long as you match the drivers well to the box you choose you should be quite happy.
