Default 1993 ZR-1 & 40th Anniversary

How many 1993 ZR-1's were built with the 40th anniversary option?

245 of the 448 ZR-1s were equipped with the 40th anniversary package. That's nearly 55% of ZR-1 production for the year.

It ain't that many. I'd say it's one of the most rare colors of ALL ZR-1's.
Bur rareness is not always desirable. Mine is one of the MOST common but it's the color I wanted. When it was time to buy a ZR-1, virtually the only option I had to choose was which color. And actually I don't like the '93 Anniversary color so it's my 2nd least favorite color behind Red.

Let's look at it a slightly different way.
Out of about 6900 ZR-1's, there are only 245 Ruby Red ones.
That's it.
No more.

You could look at it a couple of other ways as well:

1. Of the 17 colors offered, only 5 colors were produced in higher numbers than Ruby Red.
2. Ruby Red production was more than 4 times that of Admiral Blue.
3. 25% More Ruby Reds were produced than yellow.
4. Subtracting just the black and red cars, Ruby Red accounts for more than 10% of all remaining ZR-1s.
5. In its year of production, Ruby Red accounted for more vehicles than double that of red and black combined.
6. Ruby Red accounts for about 1 out of 6 405HP cars.

Ruby Red really is not a rare color. Than again, I didn't purchase a "rare" ZR-1 color either with mine being Torch Red.

Bet it is one of the lowest number of ZR-1 interior colors.

You beat me to it . Not to mention its a one year only color. If you want a torch red, black, white, black rose, yellow, etc. It was available in almost every year or at least 3 or 4 years for some. This is not color dispute really but when you see a Ruby car you never say "I wonder what year that is" or " I wonder if they put A molds on that car? The interior color alone is amazing, very rich looking cars. I wonder how many of the 245 are still no paint work, no accidents, no mods, etc? I'm sure the numbers are not too large for the above mentioned, but enough to drop the numbers under 200?

Considering they made over 200 L88's, over 600 68 L89's (can't remember how many 69's but I think it puts the numbers close to 1,000) 188 LS6's over 4,000 67 435 cars. To the original poster I think 245 or under 200 cars is pretty rare.

The red for 90,91,92 is bright red and 93-95 is torch red but its still red. I've had people put Amolds on there 91-92 cars and people had to ask from 10 feet away what year is that?

The yellow for 90 was 1 year but it was still comp. yellow. It was sensitive to sunlight so it would change color. In 91-92 they came out with a lighter yellow, then in 93-95 they went back to Comp Yellow. It doesn't have the sensitivity to light but its almost the same color.

Not to mention..... Ruby/Ruby is a 40th Anniversary car.

Bottom line is, only 245 made!! You can tweak & twist the numbers any way you want, but the ZR-1 is a VERY limited production Corvette. Only 448 total for a years production is insanely low. A large piece of a very small piece of pie is just a taste no matter how you look at it.

Currently there's 3 Ruby Red C4ZR-1's(2 right hand drive) and 2 69 L88's here down under in Australia.

When I bought the Purple Beasty, My choice was between a 7K mile 40th Zr-1 and The Callaway body DRM500. I dont regret my decision.

You would lose that bet...white is the lowest production color of ZR-1 interior colors.

At the end of the day, a Ruby ZR-1 is one of 6922...just like all of the other ZR-1s.

Sorry Slipper; You lose. I said "one of the lowest", not the lowest, as I took the white into account also.
And are you suggesting thta there were 6922 "40th Anniversary ZR-1's?
No I didn't think so, but you may choose to overlook whatever you wish.
There were only 245 40th Anniversary ZR-1's, that is a fact.
If that fact is meaningless to some or all, it does not change the fact.
Funny. Dunn heads and other things are considered by some to be a special attribute, but not the Anniversary model?
Somewhat strange.
I love all 6922!
