How to lower a C5 on stock bolts
I've heard some talk about lowering a C5 on stock bolts but I cant find a how to thread on this. Maybe I'm not searching on the right words or something. If anyone knows of a how to article on this would you please post a link to it.
I would be interested in hearing from those who have done this mod. Pros/cons/comments. How much will this lower the car?

Just lowered mine all the way down on on stock bolts.
Gotta measure again, but after about 40 mi - from jacking points and front/rear cradle dropped an inch...
Fender wheel lip to ground was about 6 - 7/8 drop...

FYI, going any lower than the GM suggested 5/8-3/4" may result in a harsher ride than you want. You may have to change out the shocks due to loss in suspension travel. Definitely get an alignment after everything settles.

At the top of this section in the red bar click on Other▼
Then click on Tech Tips▼
Then slide over and click C5

After lowering be sure to add frame savers to protect rocker panels which evidently are no longer available. Also add rollers to front crash bars (radiator supports) to protect front end from steep driveways.
A&A sells the frame savers or make your own out of flat aluminum bar stock.
Black skateboard wheels with sealed bearings work well, use two on each side of crash bar.
I used longer bolts in rear for more adjustment.

Lowered fully on stock bolts
Pros
Looks more like a sports car than a 4 x 4, handles better.
Cons
Got to stay alert for speed bumps and drives etc.
Slammed with front bolts removed and longer rear bolts.
Pros
Looks amazing
Cons
Ride has definitely deteriorated but who cares with looks like that !!!
Got to stay even more alert for speed bumps and drives etc.
Pros
Looks more like a sports car than a 4 x 4, handles better.
Cons
Got to stay alert for speed bumps and drives etc.

Not hard unless you have the F45 suspension and then you will most like have to remove the front shock and the lower attachment points to get at the bolts.
Once lowered make sure you have a 4 wheel alignment done. Finally lowering is fine as long as you don't mind the harsher ride, and you watch driveways, speed bumps and ramps. Also not good if you have an ACI front splitter unless you are real careful.
I do have an ACI and if I don't get the angle just right backing out of my drive (and it is not a high slope) I drag the splitter.

I love how mine looks lowered.....
But I don't like the harsh ride. I'm going to put mine back up a bit to see if I can remedy the jolts I'm taking on bumps.
Just remember on the fronts to not force the nut, you have to support the spring itself to take the pressure off the bolt to make it easy to turn.
The hardest part was jacking it up and removing the wheels!!
