Default How to Hook Up Starter

I have my engine on a dolly. And am trying to do a compression test. How do I hook up a battery directly to the starter? I also have a remote starter button can someone tell me how to hook it up? As always thanks

Yup. Negative battery cable to the block somewhere. Positive to the big terminal on the starter solenoid. Starter button connected between the big terminal on the solenoid and one of the small ones. Try them both (assuming you have two). One will crank and the other will do nothing.

You're very welcome. Let us know what you get for compression!

I'm only getting 120lbs but each cylinder is warying less than 10 lbs and the tired old battery I'm turning it over with will only run thru two or three compression strokes way too slowly. Actually it looks pretty good
