Hi:

Im watching a C3 1969 but i have a issue, the VIN number is Strange, is not the normal numbers and letters.

The Vin Number is "EBA 70 69 B" Someone can help me in decode this mistery?

That's not a GM VIN. State issued maybe? Link please.

not a standard vin#, you will have to give us much nore information, what is on the title, what is on the windshield pillar, what is stamped on the engine pad, what is stamped on the transmission, what is stamped on the frame?

if that is the true vin# then do not pay any more than a greatly reduced price for the car.

Could that be a European license plate number?

1969 VINs will be 194679S7xxxxx for convertibles or 194379S7xxxxx for coupes. xxxxx will be the individual consecutive unit number.

No such thing as a Euro VIN, the cars had the same format no matter where they went in the world.

Hi V,
I believe that Chevrolet is actually building cars for export now with various changes to meet European requirements.
The 69 was built only 1 way and it certainly looks like from your photo that a Euro plate has been put over the original vin plate.
Maybe a 2 Corvette owner in Lisbon.... NICE!

Corvettes have always been built with export in mind, including those built to Canadian specifications. Here's a website showing early versions imported to Europe and the changes to lighting in particular to meet the regulations of the particular country.

A friend of mine owns a '56 that spent part of it's early life in France prior to being brought back to the US in the early 60s when he bought it.

One thing that didn't change was the VIN numbers as mentioned above, frequently the GM division in the country of import added a secondary plate somewhere near the trim tag.

There's three places that have a partial VIN. The engine pad in front of the passenger side cylinder head, the side of the transmission, and on top of the frame above the left rear wheel.

tell us what is stamped exactly on the front engine pad, tranny, or frame mentioned above and we can tell you what the VIN should be. is it coupe or convertible?

The frame VIN should be a complete number, matching that in the windshield pillar.
It is very hard to read when the body is on the frame.
