My ABS and Traction Control light comes on sometimes and will not go out. Need help

Pull codes from the DIC-Post codes!! Use Advanced search if you don't know how to get the codes from the car.

Pull your codes and post them including if their is a h or c following it and then clear them to see which ones come back, that will give you an idea of what to look for.
You can view your codes by holding down options and pressing the fuel button 4 times, you then can hit reset to view each code manually. I believe you can scroll thru the main categories with options and trip buttons and go within those categories to actually see the codes with fuel and trip, not too sure on that though.

This is what happened to me for about 2 weeks before my PCM quit on me. Just be prepared for that, just in case. What year is the car?

As already requested, codes will tell you and us, what's going on. I was having the same issue but got a code for the BPMV turning slow or stalled. Turned out, my battery was a bit low as it doesn't get driven as often these days. Charged it up, no more code for the BPMV

yep, check the battery first, AVR test and let us know. I had the same situation while driving to work, since iam a mechanic and as soon as i reach my shop did teh AVR test and there ya go my alternator was bad and i was driving on a reserved battery, so when battery drained some and i started getting that message.

Is DRL light relays making buzz sound as well in passenger foot well area? if so you know they dont get enough voltage since battery is not strong enough or alternator might not be charging battery anymore.

Remember Alternator wont go just like that, it goes kaboom over some time, as battery is too low and laternator had to keep up.

I had the dealer flush and fill the brake fluid on my 2000 and now I'm having intermittent ABS/Traction control warnings too. Any connection with the flush and fill?

Possibly as the BPMV needs to be actuated. Simple and quick way is to find a puddle and spin the wheels enough to activate the AH.

I'll give it a try then. No puddles in St. George, UT this time of year though. I think I saw a puddle once but it evaporated in 13 seconds in the 7% humidity and 103 degree heat.

I know St. George very well myself. Just go around a corner and hit the gas nice and hard and the AH will activate. Just insure no one is near. I'm trying to think of a place there to suggest but at this time of the year, as you know, there really isn't anywhere. You could try the flats out in Hurricane. Dirt would do just fine too but don't want you to possibly mess up the car.

As several of the posters requested, pull your codes and list them here for us. (Hold Options, press Fuel 4 times) . The TCS module should report codes which will lead you to the root cause, then try a search here for that specific code. Without your specific failure codes, everyone is guessing at many possible outcomes.

If the TCS/ABS lights are on, I am pretty sure AH, ABS & TC will not work at all. I just went through a C1214 repair today (DIY thread) which is another common intermittent fault along with the slow motor issue which dgrant3830 experienced. Unfortunately it's not easily fixed in Y2K cars.

Correct none of the "nannies" work when the lights come on. I tested it out just to make sure.

I have a 2011 GS, mn6, f55 with about 6k miles, purchased new. Last night i ran over a jaring bump/depression in the road, and it seemed as if I felt the ABS engage (idon't remember braking). After the bump in the road, both the ABS and Traction Control light came on, and the DIC flashes "Service your Traction Control". Also, the traction control button on the console stopped working when the warning lights came on.

After shutting down the motor and restarting (several times) the ABS and Traction Control lights and the DIC "Service your Traction Control" warnings returned. The car seemes to perform as usual, but I have not tried to push the car to the limit to see if the ABS or traction control will still engage.

Is this a common problem with the C6? What causes the problem and what is the fix? I know this may require a trip to the dealer to fully resolve the prooblem.

Seeing that your car is still under warranty you should be able to take it in and have it fixed. But to understand what is wrong with the car you are going to need to pull the codes.
Also you would probably have better luck in the C6 forum.

Here is the follow up on the warning lights "ABS and Traction Control" on my 2011 GS.

When I picked the car up from the dealer, they report there was a code "C0035". The left front hub reads "0" when moving. They replaced the left front hub assembly, test drove and no codes returned.

The car seems to run perfectly well now.

I had the same problem. I read in another forum to get a test light and poke the green wire on the top of the ABS pump (while the test light is connected to battery power). At which point the pump should come on. The test light will become hot after a few seconds, put the test light out. wait a one minute and do it again. do it four or five times until the test light sire doesn't become hot anymore.

One note; when I did this the first time, the pump didn't come ON. it was becasue I was using a high impedence test light, use teh cheap ones. Or, what I ended up doing is getting a wire and attaching a 30 amp fuse to it and ran it directly to the green able. I blew 3 fuses as I was doing it, until it stopped blowing fuses, now it works fine.

THe problem is a siezed pump because or very little usage. If you don't want this to happen again, drive harder, make the traction control some ON here and there. Same with ABS brakes.
