Default Who has leftover LS6 crate engines?

Engine blew in my 03 Z and GM says the motor is no longer available. It will be covered by warranty and my dealer said to locate a new engine and they may be able to purchase that for me. Does anyone know who might have left over stock of these engines or where to check?

Last I heard some Cadillac dealers were still able to get these for CTS-Vs.
I believe youre just an oil pan swap away from a factory replacement.

List of dealer that have the engines, #1 link is a service long block and the #2 is a complete LS6 without ECU and Wire Harness. If I were you I would give the the list of dealer on #2 more new parts and less time to drop it in. If link #2 doesn't work go to # 3 and search part # 17801268 and add it to the cart it will show a list of dealers that have it in stock. Below is part of the list with the lowest cost, there are many more on the list with the highest at $7,879.50.

Tell them you couldn't find one and have them throw in an LS3 instead lol.

I wish it worked like that ... it's going through GM major guard warranty which means they will most likely put in a used engine UNLESS I can find a new one somewhere for them they said.

The oil pan is the only thing that needs to be changed.

They shouldn't have a problem pulling stock from another dealer that is willing to transfer. When I worked at the dealership we did it at cost + 10% and shipping cost but that was 20 years ago.

Yea I bought GM major guard warranty with the car when I got the car which is still active and covers this. They ended up finding me a brand new motor and GM approved it so it's on the way. Thanks for all the help.

Great news now you will have a new engine for the remainder of the GM major guard warranty.
