Machine Silver touch-up?
Has anyone found an exact paint match in an aerosol can for machine silver paint outside a dealership? I tried both Duplicolor and the Rustoleum auto paint lines. Rustoleum makes it in the tiny "nail polish" bottle, but not the spray. Duplicolor doesn't "seem" to make an exact match at all, at least not that I can tell from their booklet in the auto parts store.
I'm trying to make my own body-color license plate frame is why I'm asking. I know I could buy one for $60 or so, but thought I could make one cheap if I could just find the paint.
Any thoughts?

I used Rust Oleum Universal spray paint to do my FRCs, door handles and console. It is so close to MS that it looks great. Color is Titanium Silver...got it at Home Depot. It is Rust Oleum's top of the line spray paint...has a sort of pistol grip top, not a normal spray button. 7701 Crystal Clear enamel over it.

Which Duplicolor did you use? I looked up 2008 Corvette in their booklet, and they only listed something like "Silver mist" or something the paint code didn't match either 67U or 449L (from glove box).

I have to take a look at the can when I get home and then I'll post it up here.

It matches perfectly.

I've gone through several cans of Duplicolor BGM0530 Light Tarnished Silver Met... matches perfectly. It gains the deep rich tarnish color when the clear is applied. I've painted several things under the hood, a DIY rear plate frame and touched up my ZR1 spoiler with it:

I originally went this route on my FRC's but the flake is larger than the stock paint so I ended up re-doing them in the Duplicolor. They looked good with the Rust Oleum, but it kept eating at me so I had to re-do them.

I agree, I would like mine to look like yours. What did you use for the letters and how did you do them?
