2004 z06 change battery
Hello
I'm not a frequent driver of my car, and my battery is dead. Is it easy to change the battery? On a scale of 1-10, and me being "handy", i'd give myself a 5.
or is it just better / easier / safer to have the dealer do it?

I had a C4 and changing the battery was a little tricky. The C5 battery is simple, just take it out.
Note: the battery will go dead from lack of use because the car has a continuous drain on it. That does not mean the battery is bad, it may just need to be charged.

Not hard at all...and get yourself a battery tender. My car is not a DD, so my battery can get tired sitting as well. I picked up a "battery tender jr." for $25. Worth every penny...starts strong all the time now.

Not hard at all.
But there is one small catch, be sure to write down the "unlock" code for your radio, if you have that enabled. My battery went dead, and after recharging. I had to unlock the radio. Good thing I wrote that down in the owners manual, back in 2002 when I bought the car. Cause I damn sure couldn't remember it, 7 years later.

Make sure that the battery is secured tightly. You will think your whole suspension is coming apart if its not secured in there and flopping around.

my factory battery finally died...replaced mine last night. took me all of 7 - 8 minutes...use a 10 and 13mm socket. good luck
