I think it's safe to say RCC will probably have the fastest vette there...

I'm hoping to be there for a day, but sadly I won't be bringing my car; not enough time to drive that far. Can't wait to see what others bring though

We will be there with our customers twin tubo Ford GT making a bit more than our last setup which ran 225 mph.

None of our big hitter corvette customers are signed up for March but will be at the next Mile

I'd say that is a bold statement. What makes you qualified to say that? You have a list of all attending? Not saying that rcc car wont be competitive but Your state is just ridiculous.

this is not a dyno number its a 1 mile real race for mph! Not for the faint of heart. It takes a whole complete combo of things to bring it all together. One little wire or hose clamp or screw will make it all come crashing down.

Angry?

Sure, I could probably have avoided the contradictory wording ("safe to say" vs "probably")...

... And no I don't have detailed information on every single other vette attending...

But is it really ridiculous to say that RCC's car is probably the fastest vette going based on public info? We already know you're not going...

OP asked a question, there's my opinion...

What do YOU think?

Don't forget about the nuts! A failure of the nuts will lead to lifting and not pushing the car as hard as it can go!! LOL

The biggest problem with the vettes at the Mile is the gearing.
It takes a lot of hp to trap well.
The year I went ('09) there was a TTC6 (I believe it was a Z06) making 800rw that couldn't crack 200.
I look forward to seeing what happens this year, though!
Should be fun for everyone who is going to be there.
Good luck to all!

How fast do other cars making that kind of power go? No matter what chassis you have it is going to take a LOT of power to hit 200MPH in 30 seconds or so, which is how long the mile goes by if you're hitting those speeds...
The Corvette is a pretty aerodynamic car, it should do well on a mile type event. I think traction is probably the biggest problem; the TT Gallardos have full time AWD and the Ford GTs have the engine/transmission right on top of the rear axle so they can both hook up better.

Well, my friend in his 580rw Porsche 996TT went 195, and some of the 650rw or so Porsches were over 200.
One Porsche at low to mid 800's rwhp went 215.

I don't think it was traction with that vette.
I talked to those guys and watched them make a few passes, and they just could not get it to pull over 199.xx.

I agree it takes a lot of power to hit that mark, but some cars are just geared better for it, IMO.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, just touching on something that seems to be a consideration.

Gearing and CD are key..........look at the Vipers it's not for lack of power that they are not up with the Gallardos, GT's, and Supras.
