Has anyone purchased the GM pedal covers for their GS? Are they hard to install? I did not order that option, but can get them for about $200. Just wondering if I should?

I did not order mine. My Vette came with them. One of only three options that were on the car. I could look at them to see how they were installed and let you know.

Thanks. The gas pedal looks like a complete assembly and other two look like the just fit over or on the existing pedals.

Any help is appreciated.

I bought the same type of setup for my CTS. The accelerator is a complete assembly. It is actually the easiest part of the changeout - pretty much plug and play. The brake and clutch are new covers and it took me quite a while wrestling with the brake cover to finally get it on. Once on, I definitely think it was worth it though. I'm definitely considering it for my GS.

You are correct. Thats exactly how they install. The gas pedal is a complete switchout. The other 2 slip over the existing pedals.. Its easy to do.. I installed mine. You can do it!!!!

Mines not a GS but I'm sure the install is the same...

I bought the Elite Engineering gas and dead pedal, easy install.

A C-clamp and a 7/16 socket made easy work of the accelerator pedal.

The key is to first use a mirror to look behind the pedal to understand how everything is arranged. Then unhook the spring from its lever and use the c-clamp and socket.

I just installed the Elite pedals this weekend. The gas pedal was imposable to install without dropping the pedal hanger to adequately access the back of the pedal. If I would have done this in the first place I could have knocked off an hour instead of fooling around with it and just getting frustrated. I would highly recommend to anyone doing the install to just drop the pedal hanger for easy access.

I should also note I bought the GM Accessories pedal/cover; similar to the one's offered for the Corvette except with long strips of rubber against the aluminum instead of squares. If you go aftermarket, your install experience might be different.

From experience, any time you're working on the gas pedal, it's easiest to pull out the entire assembly. No big deal, as only three bolt's and a plug in wire harness. I tried the Elite wide pedal, but didn't care for the sloppy mounting set up. Ended up with a wider bolt on piece, but that's a whole nother story.

I got the GM accessory pedals. For the brake cover, I suggest place it in near boiling water to soften up the rubber before trying to get the brake cover on.

Thanks for the pictures....I really like the GM ones. I'll get them and put them on.....as soon as I get my new GS, which was supposed to be yesterday, but will be Thurs I hope.
