Edelbrock Install - Second Edelbrock For Me!
Since "CoolHand" has finished his Edelbrock install I thought it time to kick off yet another one. This will be my second Edelbrock install. The first one went on my car back in March. This is a 2008 Z51 MN6 CRM convertible. It will get the 1590 kit, Dewitts radiator and the Halltech "BeeHive" shroud. All the parts are here in my garage and I pick up the car on Sunday. This one won't get headers nor a cam nor a custom tune and will probably never see a dyno. The owner doesn't care about "the numbers" and is looking for stealthy, quiet, OEM look, fast with no added maintenance and he'll get it! Thanks to ECS for a killer deal on both the supercharger and the Dewitts radiator!

I'm going to use the "drop the engine crade" technique to pin the crank this go round and see how it compares to "remove the steering" which I've done the last half dozen or so times and never really liked. I'll also find a better spot to mount the horns to avoid the muted sound everyone is reporting with the Edelbrock bracket and see what other tips and techniques I can improve on.
This will be another in a home garage, on jackstands with a box full of Craftsman tools type of install.

Interested to see how you like the 'drop the cradle method'. Already did that part on mine, but there is always the next time.
I'll be putting mine on this weekend too, also on jackstands in my garage. I can't wait to get started. I'm thinking about horn mounting options too.
Have fun with the install Ken I'm sure the owner will be very happy with your work and the results.

Good luck Ken! I am sure that all will be installed perfectly!
As far as cooling is concerned...how much "better" is the Dewitts radiator worth (as a percentage over stock). Is it a direct fit, no fabbing/cutting?
Thanks, and good luck!

Absolutely 100% direct fit...no issues! The radiator cooling core is twice the thickness of the OEM radiator. Does nothing (directly) for supercharger cooling but keeps the engine happy in all weather. IMHO the stock radiator is marginal even for a stock engine. The Dewitts is a quality product!

Ken, I'll be following your post with great interest. I plan on ordering the E-Force for my LS2 early in 2011 while the Vette is in storage. I have several Forum Articles (including some of yours) covering cam swaps/ SC Installs, crank pinning, etc. I plan on adding the Dewitts also. Anxious to see how dropping the engine cradle compares to pulling the steering rack.

as with others I am following this with a lot more interest than everyone else since Ken will be tinkering with my car.
Not only am I humbled with Ken's help, expertise, and willingness to work on my car but Ken's pay it forward attitude is a real gift of this forum.
Mike- I appreciate all you and Chris did at ECS to make all this come together.
I am trying not to ck this thread more than every few hours

Let us know if that 2008 has the "engine coolant air bleed pipe and hole cover" as described in our installation this past month
On our 2008 LS3 we found an "engine coolant air bleed pipe and hole cover" on 9-839 of 2008 manual. We had to grind on the driver side, rear of engine, hole cover. It sticks up about 3/4 inch and touched the rear end of the plenum of the charger. We were unable to seat the charger on the ports properly. After grinding, the charger sat properly and we were able to torque it down.
