Which AC Delco Oil Filter?
Which AC Delco oil filter should I use on my 2006 LS2 6liter engine? I have seen conflicting recommendations between PF44 and PF48. I don't have the car and manual with me, but I want to pick up the oil and filter on the way home.
Thanks.
Colin
Thanks.

PF46 superseded the PF44. Either one will work. Or you can use the UPF44 premium filter

The 2006 LS2 was the last year that used the 44/46 series filters. The 2007 LS2 and 2008 LS3 uses the 48 series. The 48 series uses a different mounting thread pitch so don't even try to use a 48 series on a 2005/2006 LS2!!!!!!

Actually, I list the UPF44, which is the UltraGuard filter that filters further down in microns, etc. There is no UP (UltraGuard) version of the PF46, which is why I recommend the UPF44.

Some more background info: The PF44 was replaced by the PF46 six or seven years ago (with the exception of the premium UPF44). The only difference is that the PF46 got improved internal media. I have no idea why GM/AC Delco decided to change the model designation to PF46. Why not keep it as PF44? The 44 and 46 series are dimensionally interchangeable.

I'd use a Wix! Ever since I found a A/C Delco filter that was made by Super tech. Or the same company as this A/C was the exact same internally as the Walmart Super tech. I'll use a Wix!
