Default 434 Stroker new, ~575hp

Around $10k invested with many receipts. Hasn't been run yet, all new parts except for the block which was extensively worked on. Could easily make more power with more cam, work on heads, etc, this was built to be a streetable motor with a nice usable powerband, lots of torque, a reasonable idle and maybe even slightly decent gas mileage.
  • GM 3951509 Block
    • Cast chrome nickel sleeves installed in in each cylinder
    • Splayed 4 bolt steel mains, billet front cap, ARP studs/bolts
  • Cola 4340 crankshaft (COLS 40004 C), 4.000" stroke, 400 mains
    • Internally Balanced
  • Eagle 4340 ESP 6.000" H Beam rods, (~660g)
    • 7/16" ARP 8740 bolts, 190,000 PSI
  • Ross -6 cc flat tops (99474) floating pins, produces 10.8:1
    • 460g, 1.000" compression height
  • AFR 210 cc CNC ported Race Ready heads
    • 2.08 intake, 1.60 exhaust valves
    • Flow 282 @ .600 intake, 215 @ .600 exhaust
  • Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, port matched to #1206
  • Crane hydraulic roller camshaft
    • 240/248 @.05, .614/.576 w/ 1.65./1.55 rockers
  • Crower hydraulic roller lifters
  • Yella Terra twin shaft mount rockers (1.65/1.55)
  • ATI Super Dampner
  • Comp Cams 2 piece aluminum timing chain cover
  • Milodin high volume aluminum short water pump
  • Hamburger 7 quart oil pan with crank scraper, clearanced
  • McLeod hi torque mini starter
  • Carter Winston Cup 170 gph mechanical fuel pump
  • Includes an engine stand and an engine lift.

This motor was intended for my 76 car that I'm selling in this thread. Too many other hobbies, too little time, I'm done with hotrods ;( Asking $4500, thats a steal for this engine, you won't be able to build something this nice for anything close to that.

holy crap!! your other hobby wouldn't include guns would it ?? I'd be interested in trading for some high end Guns for the motor ???
ie..50cals or .308's , AR's ???? Glock or Wilson Combat Pistols ??

Were the original cylinder walls cracked or damaged? Just wondering why the sleeves versus a dart block. Ron B.

Hi sorry guys, I haven't been getting on the forum much lately, it's best to reach me via personal email or cell phone. I had a buyer but he backed out, originally I was hoping to have someone pick it up locally but now it's packed up on a pallet so I can ship it out, if the buyer makes shipping/pickup arrangements.

Ron - I bought it from the guy who had it built, I think what happened is he started getting big ideas as it was getting built, so he used what he had. There was a lot of money put into the block, for a little more he could have gone to a Dart block; but this block should be plenty strong for the current config. The cylinder walls were reinforced for strength, they are all sleeved, not just one or two of them, so I don't think there was any damage that warranted that.

I know the price is low, I probably picked too low of a number when I posted it, but it's posted so thats the price I'm asking. I haven't spent much time on CF in years as my hobbies have changed, but I used to post on here all the time. If anyone is in or around Chicago they are more than welcome to stop by and check it out, if anyone interested in buying it is not in the area but they know someone who is, feel free to send them by and I can show them the motor. I also have a ton of parts I'm going to be listing separately.

If the engine isn't sold shortly I'm just going to throw it up on ebay.

regards,

Rob

I emailed you through the site a couple of days ago but have not received a reply. Could you send me some pictures?
Thanks, Tom

Thats a crazy looking motor man, very nice, is that in a drag boat? Looks like fun but right now my only high performance needs is for my 2.5 liter Subaru Forester XT which I'm trying to resist the temptation to do anything too drastic with...

19' Jetboat runs 10:80's @ tad over 100mph with mild Hyd.Roller cam stock bore 454 by time slips guessing in the 850 HP range

...asking 16k for complete setup everything freshened up back in 2006 but its only been ran 3 times since ..not at races but at " hot Boat " get togethers I only raced once in Marble Falls to get Proof of what it would ACTUALLY RUN and shut up the local " 100mph + lake braggers " that can only do 70 ! ... I just don't have time to run her much anymore, one guy in Ohio wants the boat less engine ( he's got a Pro-Mod 632 he want to put in a boat )
and I don't want a bigazz engine sticking out of my 'Vette ..plus the headaches of buying all new pulleys and such to make it work , I want to keep the stock look but have some serious HP under the hood ...LOL

Rob,

I've asked it the engine is still for sale, I've sent you a email, asking for the same. I still waiting for a response. And now you are back in the forum I can see, but still no response from you.
Are you for real........$4500 is a lot of money for me, are you just playing around with us?

I have the following in this engine Std.bore 454 ,TRW Forged piston 8.75:1 ,Total Seal rings, 320 Aluminium Pro-Topline Heads ( good ones ..not the junk heads ) have flow bench results..flow over 400cfm, hyd.roller Crane Cam & roller valvetrain w/ stud girdles. Weiand 8/71 Blower , 2 Dominator 1050 carbs, billet valve covers ,Custom scoop ..Pete jackson gear drive and a few other odds and ends.. Blower,Drives, carbs and heads alone I have close to 7K

simple solution ..pick this SBC up for me and swap even for my BBC Complete !
